We saw Alpine Meadows assisted living. They seem to have lots of activities. The patients were out of their rooms and enjoying activities. They were getting ready for a walk at that time. They walked around the grounds. Then we were shown the schedule of the activities that were planned. They had lots of activities planned. The rooms were very nice. It was two stories, but there was an elevator (which was quite fast and not jerky or anything). It probably would be pretty easy to ambulate down to the dining areas and the activity areas. The food smelled very good. The executive director showed us around. He knew all the patients' names. He was very caring, and very helpful. I was pretty impressed with them.

We got a tour of Alpine Meadows. I stepped into the entrance and looked around. All my questions were answered. I was impressed. It is a smaller community. Even though I didn't get to go in and see a lot, it felt home-like. It is not brand new and it is not terribly elegant, but it is very neat, clean, and appealing, like I would like someone to feel when they walk into my living room. The place was very neat and well cared for. I was very impressed with the place.

After we had looked at three other places, Alpine Meadows was the one we were considering most. It was also the one that we thought would best meet our needs. It was a mile from our son's house. We were happy with the size of things. They had a library and a computer. I liked the choices for their studios. There seemed to be more active people there. The kitchen facility and the menu looked good. The grounds could have been a little more cheerful, and my mother-in-law would have pitched in to make it happen. She would have taken money out of her Social Security to put flowers all over the place outside, and she would have maintained them.

The guy that worked at Alpine Meadows was outstanding. He put himself to do paperwork to help us look. He put himself over and above not even knowing that we weren’t going to be in his facility so that was a really good plus. It was small. They had bingo and did little bus trips and shopping. Their dining area looked very nice and was set up very nice. I liked the guy running it, the staff, and the looks of the place.

We visited Alpine Meadows, and the people were very nice. The staff was wonderful; everybody was really nice and helped us a lot, answered all of our questions, and showed us around. The rooms were basically nice and the same as in other places. They had a calendar of activities, which was nice. They took residents on tours and did outside stuff, like train rides. The dining room was very open and nice.
