This place is not the place for my mom

Touchmark and the staff has been a complete let down. In our family's experience. The nursing staff is not qualified or caring to assure that our family member is taken care of. Her medicines have been lost. Her pill dispenser has been misplaced. We have spoken to the administrator. With a promise to return a call. Never returned call. Nurses who assured they would check. Never checked. A family member was in the apartment. Pressed the emergency button. No one showed at all.

I like Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village. They took COVID seriously, and I appreciated that. The lady that we met with was very nice and very professional. She gave us a nice tour and she answered all of our questions. She has been very thorough and diligent in her follow up, but not pushy. I'm in sales, so I appreciate a follow up that's not pushy. She's always available when I want to talk. We saw a two-bedroom apartment that I believe was for assisted living. The outside is first class. It's a beautiful building. It has well-maintained grounds.

Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village assisted living is phenomenal and great. The staff is very polite, helpful, friendly, and made me feel very comfortable. The place is warm, friendly, cordial and comfortable. The food is very good. They have just about any activity that you would like to have and they have them going all the time. You name it, they have it. They have a pool, transportation service within and outside the complex, and outside activities that they bus them to like a concert or speaking event.

My dad moved in to Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village. He really liked it, and it is a very nice facility although it is kind of pricey. The place looks like a resort. The staff are really good and friendly. His room is 600 square feet. The only thing I'd like to change is his room could be wheelchair accessible like the closets.

We put my mother in Touchmark. The staff members are really great people, and the facility is really nice. She has a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, a bathroom, a living room, and a bedroom. They have lots of activities going on all of the time. It’s a very nice place, the people are great, and my mom is doing well there, so it’s just perfect for her.

Rate increased 4%. Management does not listen to resident suggestions. Billing department does not read the lease agreements and mis-billed my parents. Now they won't correct their mistakes. Maintenance is sometimes good -- one of them is a bit of a snot. They haven't replaced the lights for the garage entrance - say the bulbs are on order.... It has been WEEKS. They need to look at ways to reduce costs, not increase them. Guess they don't know what energy efficiency is. Also, their card readers are antiquated - it takes a lot of dexterity to get them into the card reader. Newer versions allow you to just wave at the reader which would be easier. Maybe no one in the management staff has arthritis. Their bathrooms also need to be better equipped with more storage (can you really live with one medicine cabinet and 1 vanity in a bathroom) ... Bathrooms also needs to have ADA grab bars.

Meadow Lake Village was a very nice facility, but we found it to be more expensive. We took it out of consideration because of the pricing. We saw one room, and it was very nice, but it was not any better than the other facilities we visited as far as the room goes. We noticed they seem to have more staff.

The reason we visited Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village was because of what it offered. I thought they had $750, but it was $3750; I can't believe it. They had a nurse on duty, they would deliver meals in two times a day, and it was gorgeous. I was very impressed, but not when they told me how much it was.

I was really impressed with Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village. It was just a gorgeous and lovely place. They have beautiful people there. The lady who gave me a tour was extremely informative. She told me about programs available for financing for my father and information to different programs through the government that I had not known about. Touchmark has assisted living, senior living, and separate housing. It was my first choice. They have a situation there that would meet the needs of what I was looking for. They have apartment living, where they could have somebody come and assist my mother with my father, like when he has incontinence issues and just needs help cleaning up. If my father advanced to needing more care, they could move them over to the more specialized care in another apartment situation and still able to keep them together. They were very beautiful apartments. They were two-bedroom apartments, and it was just like having their own home, though a little smaller. However, it did have plenty of rooms, so they didn't feel like they were just in a bedroom. They also have programs available at the site that would be of interest to my parents with their services. They also have clubs, libraries, and activities that would meet the needs of both my parents. They even have different levels of care for their food.

Meadow Lake is beautiful. It has very nice grounds, it's very up to date. It's beautifully decorated, very warm, very inviting, very spacious rooms. In fact, they have a nice kitchen. It varies what you select, but they have two meals a day. I stayed there for a week. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. They have several common areas with fireplaces. They have a library, they have a gym. They have a nine-hole golf course on the grounds. The ones my mom and stepfather generally attend are the historical lectures. There are lots of other things, but that's the one that they do most often.

Touchmark was the first one we looked at and nothing compared to that. That is really a first class operation. They give excellent service. They got a whole community full of ranch-model homes, i.e., two-bedroom, three-bedroom with one or two-car garages. They also got the typical condominium style houses. They also have assisted living facility and memory care facility. They got a good location as the hospital is just two blocks away.
