We had a positive experience touring Bickford of Muscatine. The facilities were nice. The rooms weren't as nice though, and it was expensive for us. Other than that, the staff members were courteous and nice.

My visit at Bickford of Muscatine was fine. I liked the way everything was organized and they have activities for the residents. I also like the way the staff was with the residents. They were very cordial and very nice people. I liked the way the place was laid out. I liked the way they take an interest in the residents, which was really good. The cleanliness was good too; it didn't smell like a hospital.

My father has been at Bickford of Muscatine since the last week of May. They furnished his apartment before he got there and have gone above and beyond in getting his medications straightened out. There is something going on all the time. They have an exercise group and a couple of reading groups. They serve three meals a day at 8 a.m., noon, and 5 p.m. There is a pond two blocks away where my father can go fishing. All of the residents who I have come in contact with look content, and the staff members are superstars.

The one I really liked was Bickford. It was cozier and homier looking. It appeared very clean to me and well taken care of. They had music when I went there. They gave me tours of the available room types which was very good. The people at Bickford were much more professional, and when they set up the visit, they were very organized. They asked about my mother in law and what kind of need she has, and they really tend to explain a lot of things as far as what to expect. They wanted to know as much as they could about the patient or the person coming in. I really liked the way Bickford handled asking about her and making it more personable.

The facilities have a warm, home-like feel, with several room size options. The staff is friendly and caring. They provide a wide range of activities for the residents including exercise, crafts, and games such as bingo. When extra attention is needed by residents they make special effort to meet the resident's needs. My relatives have been at this facility for over 4 years. There has been quite a bit of staff turnover, but I've been happy with the care.
