My sister is at Iowa Veterans Home. We are very impressed. The attitude of the staff is always upbeat and positive. It is very clean, and it smells good. The food is good. There are activities, trips and outings for the residents. We are very confident that my sister is getting very good care. We are very happy with it. There is a day room, a ceramic studio, a leather-working studio, a gift shop, garden beds, and a library. Each room has a television, a private bathroom, and ample storage.

Iowa Veterans Home is incredible and I love it. The staff is stellar and gives excellent care. I wouldn't trust my folks to go anywhere else, especially for memory care. The food's hit or miss. Mom says she loves it, though. They have too many activities to list, like outings, therapy dogs, music, choirs, and church.

The rooms in Iowa Veterans Home were very spacious, very nice, and had big, private bathrooms. They had lots of space and big closets. The staff we talked to was very nice. There were a few activities like movie nights, and dances. The facility was very clean, they had 3 dining areas; one was a big cafeteria, another was a little restaurant where you can order what you want, and another where you can have a meeting and have food there.

My parents moved into the VA in January 2017. We are amazed at how well they are taking care of our parents. They make sure they have a shower every day and then at night come in to clean them up before bed. The care that they offer is exceptional!! My parents weren't looking into moving into the VA but now everyone is really making them feel at home. Thank you VA for all that you do!!
