This facility is one of those that works hard at giving the negative aspect of being in an assisted living facility a better spin. They work hard at encouraging family members to have something to do with their family members while they are there. They also work at making sure the residents keep busy. They have a yearly halloween candy give away for any children of the area that wish to come and parade their costumes for the residents. My ex mother in law works there and she is always telling me about fun things she trys to do to bring the residents spirits up. They also bring in animals to give companiion ship to their residents. They have birds, a cat, and a dog. I have tried to encourage my girl scout troop to go to Aase to read to those unable to do this for themselves. Unfortunatly iour troop disbanded before we were able to get this done, but i am still trying to get a group of people together to do this. There is so much history in these homes that if we would all just listen we could learn so much, before it is gone for good.
