We're going with Apple Valley Assisted Living - Charles. The staff was on it. I like the better vibe. There was more happening there, and there was more staff there than in the other place. It's in the town where we live, so that's a big factor. It smelled good. I didn't smell mothballs when I walked in. They seemed professional, including the nurse I talked to. It was really clean and inviting. People were mingling around. It was alive. It had some music playing. It was a great atmosphere. They had a nice patio garden in the back. I didn't go out there, but I live by it; I see it all the time.

Apple Valley Assisted Living - Charles City was a really nice and clean place. The people were real friendly. The workers were always trying to get my mother to do stuff and walking her down even to some of the activities. They were really proactive in working with the people. She was in there until she missed a chair and she sat down on the floor hard and fractured her pelvis. The couple that I dealt with in there were really nice. There were a couple workers that really worked hard. They tried to get stuff going for my mom. The food was good, and they had activities going on every day. It's a really nice facility. The availability for the people to get to where the activities are is not hard. We got what we paid for.
