I've visited the Bickford of Burlington. It was a very nice looking facility, it's quite large and they're very clean. It's almost the kind of place that I'd go to if I ever had to have assisted living. The staff who gave the tour was very professional and very helpful. It didn't feel like I was imposing upon them when I was there. They offered a meal, but we did not partake. They had three different room sizes. They had an outdoor court that was enclosed, but it was outdoors. So it's a place where you can go outside and have coffee in the morning. What impressed me was that they have a little room with a big glass front, and they had birds in it. It was very interesting. The dining facilities looked very nice, and the public areas were spacious and very neat.

We like Bickford of Burlington because the people there were more into the elderly that live there. The staff seems to be more concerning and helpful. The buildings went in a circle, so they had a big backyard with flowers and they could take their dogs out there. The people were very helpful. If they needed help with their dogs, they would help them. Everybody was friendly, it was just a different kind of atmosphere. They were there to help the seniors; you could just tell that right off the bat. I tried a cookie from there and it was good, and I had something to drink.

I enjoyed Bickford of Burlington, but they were costly, and they're private pay, so if Mom would need to be on Medicaid they don't cover that. The staff was very good. It would've been a good place for her to go. They had studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and they had a lot of activities going on. They were pretty big in the decorating. They try to make it look homier as opposed to institutional. They had a courtyard where they could walk in the middle, and they allow pets. The facility was very nice.

My mother is in assisted living at Bickford of Burlington. It's a great place and is one of the better ones in the area. It's nice, the employees are nice, the food is good, and they take care of my mom. It's a safe place and I'm very satisfied with it. They have three different sized rooms and my mom has the middle size room. It's plenty big enough and adequate. They have activities.

We visited Bickford Cottage and I thought the apartments were very nice, but on the small size. I thought they would be great for one person, but we were looking for a place for both of my parents together and we thought it would be too crowded for two people. They had crafts activities, bingo, and that sort of things. We saw some of the ladies, I thought they were playing bingo when we were there. We didn't eat a meal there, but we did see the dining room and the menu. Their dining room was very nice and it looked very comfortable.
