Towards the end of the year, my father was with Genesis. I think hospice care went well. They were always very caring and very concerned. It seems to me -- and this is just my opinion -- that hospice is actually more for the family than it is for the poor patient. They do a great job of giving you support and trying to get you through it with the patient. They were always on the spot with equipment and supplies. The way it worked, they actually had an RN that that would come in three times a week to check on him, and then there was a CNA that came in every other day to bathe him. The CNA was phenomenal. She was a really nice gal; her name was Angie. The nurses were all well-prepared and professional, and it must just be the nature of hospice, but it seemed like everybody was just really compassionate and understanding. Here’s a suggestion; it has nothing to do with healthcare unfortunately, but when you have one person in hospice, it would be nice if the hospice service could keep a -- for lack of a better term -- 'vendor list' or outside services list of yard work and handyman that maybe give a good price for hospice-type people because I don’t like my folks to call me and say they have a basement leak. Who do I know who to tell them to call?
