We went to Rock Creek Senior Living twice and we had a wonderful experience visiting it. The staff was very helpful, answered all of our questions, and followed up many times. It's very clean. We looked at a few different room options and sizes and mom found that she would prefer a bedroom unit. She liked it. It would be plenty for what she would need.
We had a meal there and it was delicious. They served meals pretty much in the dining room, but you can also come down at any time during the day or night if you're hungry and get something off of an ala carte area. They had daily activities, indoor and outdoor. They had a gardening area, game rooms, and a movie area. They would also take their residents shopping, to movies, or bowling. So, there were all kinds of activities. She liked the atmosphere there and she thought that it was someplace she would like to be.

Rock Creek Senior Living was new and well cared for. They have created a positive atmosphere and it didn't look like a nursing home, but a real community instead. I met with Ken and he was amazing and just fantastic. He gave me chocolate cakes to bring back to my parents and it was the best chocolate cake they had ever had. They told me they loved it.
Their eating areas were very much like a cruise ship restaurant. You could also do the bistro that serves food 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Plus they make homemade cookies. Looked like the residents were having a good time. The rooms looked very nice. They were open and had enough space where my parents could function well.

Journey Senior Living of Ankeny was a nice, new facility. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were modern and clean. Some of the amenities we saw were a recreation room and a gardening area. They have a restaurant and a workout area too.

I really liked Journey Senior Living of Ankeny. The staff member was really friendly, spent a lot of time with me, and thoroughly explained the things that they do. They had studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms. They had movie nights, and they had an outside courtyard where they had flowers. It's newer and bigger than the other place I visited.

We chose Journey Senior Living of Ankeny for mother. Overall, its been good, clean, and people are friendly. Its laid out fine, with easy access, and its good. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are nice, refreshing, and there are nice, big windows. Mom seems to be enjoying the food, she said its good. They have music and bingo, but she has not participated yet, because she took a fall. They have a bus which take them to doctors appointments. Others should come and visit, meet the staff, see the rooms, because its more refreshing to be there.

A beautiful and welcoming place for Senior Living. The staff is very friendly, and care for and treat the residents with the upmost respect. Many daily activities and outings. The meals are wonderful, with daily specials and choices. Seniors may also have the companionship of their pet in their home. Located in a newer residential area in NW Ankeny. With access to shopping, local restaurants and other community activities. I would strongly recommend Journey Senior Living to anyone looking for an assisted living with memory care for themselves or a family member.

The rooms at Journey Senior Living of Ankeny have showers with already built-in shower seats, which is nice. They don't have carpets, making it easier for wheelchairs, but also cleaning up and reducing any smells. They have a nice, fairly large courtyard in the middle of the building. It's kind of in a rectangle around the courtyard. The staff member that I met was very nice, very caring, and very much interested in making sure that the residents are treated with dignity and respect, no matter what level of decline they're in. The facility was very clean and well-maintained. I met only a couple of staff members, but they seemed very friendly and caring.
