Kahala Nui was wonderful. I loved it. I loved the atmosphere and that it has continuous care from beginning to end. There are several rooms from studio to three-bedroom, and they were fabulous. The person who gave the tour was very good. I felt comfortable. The dining area was great. They had a pool, an exercise room, a library, and a lot of amenities.

Kahala Nui has all levels, from independent living to skilled nursing. I went to their independent living. The ambience, the staff, and the food were excellent. It's homemade food. The activities were excellent. They had various activities. You could take all kind of courses there. There were some higher level courses that you could take; you can learn another language and stuff like that. The rooms were much better than others, but it's more expensive. You can go from a studio up to three bedrooms. I give them a higher rating, but I don't like having to dress up for dinner.

Kahala Nui was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and had great views of either the ocean or the pool area or the garden. The people were very friendly, and the food looked like it was going to be good. We went in-between breakfast and lunch, so we didn’t get to eat. The surroundings were beautiful.

Kahala Nui is really very nice. It’s got everything that you would need and a lot of different areas for activities. Actually, we are going to fill in an application there. It’s well-maintained and the people seemed very nice. They have a lot of medical facilities and parking is very nice because they have valet parking if my parents would need it. My parents didn’t like it that much because it’s big and kind of like a maze, and there’s a lot of going in and out, a lot of corridors to different buildings. The staff seemed very nice and very professional.

Kahala Nui is an excellent facility except it's very expensive. They offer social activities, excursions, and three meals a day. This would be a place that I would recommend, but it would depend on their needs and their financial position.

Hawaii's aging baby boomer population needs more and more of this type of senior living residence for those elderly who can well afford a more upscale type of facility. Services provided lessens the burden of seniors who have no one to rely on when they get ill or need medical attention on a daily basis. Socialization becomes important when they lose a spouse or are lonely because the kids are too busy to do things with the parent

Residents and staff are friendly and caring. Many and varied activities planned to interest all. Ethnically diverse. Good food graciously served 3 meals a day.
