Nursing staff with the responsibility of actually caring for patients, don't. Staff is 1 nurse per hallway of approximately 20 rooms per. Found meds on the floor behind and under the bed even after personally cleaning up room. Bugs on the countertops in room. Meds not given to patients on time, prn pain meds many times weren't given at all. Residents calling out to the hall for help, stating they were being ignored and to please help. PT was decent when with patient but if patient had any other appts like dialysis, they generally would not get PT. Showers for bedridden patients have to be requested or else they don't get washed. My diabetic family member came out with green on their feet from not being washed. After neglecting to care for a medical device (even though they were questioned several times as to concern for the care) patient ended up in the er, non-responsive, put on life support and has been an uphill battle since. These are generally elderly they are caring for so in my opinion care should be impeccable. BC of age, most patients neglected because there are plenty other "reasons" for them to have the issues they have. However, when you are a caregiver (which they did not know I was) you see all the flaws in the system. and many of these patients are afraid to tell anyone bc they are afraid of being mistreated when family leaves.

I was in Cambridge Post Acute Care Center and it was a nightmare. It was horrible care. The only reason I stayed was because they had terrific physical therapy. It was a long-term facility, but they did rehab, too. At the long-term building where I was getting my hair done, there were poor people all lined up in the hallway hanging out of chairs.
I hope that it would be shut down. They were one of those that were written up in the paper. When they had those 20 places that they investigated about six months ago, it was on that list. For instance, they had the gal that was attending me worked in the kitchen, but she also had to clean my diarrhea, and that could be at a time she's working in the kitchen with food. It was horrible.
I didn't like the way the long-term building was. The people were so poorly cared for. I guess the staff makes minimum wage, and I don't think they're well-trained. These places really have a lot of problems, and for somebody that would have a stroke and doesn't know better, you would be sunk in a place like that. They needed to be cleaned. I'm a very clean person and I felt like it was very mediocre. Think about this, diarrhea and the gal had to come from the kitchen.
The food was pretty good. They had activities, but I never really did the activities. They had a few people that were really good, but for the most part left a lot to be desired. One night, about 11:00 p.m., I vomited, and I'm in the dark in the room. The gal that came on that was there for the night had moved the button, so I couldn't reach it. I thought that was done on purpose, so you leave them alone. I called my husband and he came over there. I was in the dark vomiting, and you could aspirate there very easily.
I was laying in diarrhea one day for hours. They'd give you a number of different people. I called the head nurse, and she sent somebody in. They didn't really care. I know they had an ombudsman, but I wasn't sure to call them, and I didn't know if he was in on it. At night, they had parties in the front foyer. The TV or whatever it was they were playing was so loud with that canned laughter, and nobody cared. There were a couple of really nice RNs, but that's all. I didn't think it was very clean. I'm a very clean person, and I wouldn't have taken a shower in the shower in my room. The corners were filthy.

We were so disappointed in the care our mother received. PT and OT was great; however, the room staff was awful. My mother-in-law was left in soiled diapers for 6-8 hours on more than one occasion. She said the nurses and assistance were mean and treated her rough. Very disappointed. She said she would not wish this experience on her worst enemy. We will NEVER use them again!!

When my love one came to this place i would’ve visit everyday because the staff wouldn’t help the residents my family room mate would push for help it took someone hours to come in then they would turn the light off and wouldn’t help her even with me in the room.one morning my husband and I went in at 7:30 am because she had a doctor appointment and found her not responding call for nurse no one would help us so my husband and I dress her and took her to the doctor when she got there her blood pressure was 45/90 she was rush to Gwinnett where she was admitted. The doctor said she would have died if we wasn’t there when we did.No one bother to call to check on her and when I went to move her things no one said a word to me or my husband.I wouldn’t put anyone or anything in that place and don’t let that social workers fool you;;;this is a hell hole cna dont give a dam about the residents;they don’t interact with them want even feed them

If my dad did not come to this facility he would be dead right now. I do not know what these other people are talking about. Sure, no place is perfect. The hospital sure ain't gonna keep nobody alive. Look people, you have to be involved. They don't know your mama or your daddy. You have to tell them what they need to know. Your parent is there because they are sick and need help. If I could have taken care of my daddy at home, I would have. I read these reviews and treated the people there really ugly. Now, I'm embarrassed because my dad is going great and I know I was not a nice guy. I did not want to listen until I saw my dad getting better.
Angels in Facility
My mother was recently admitted to Cambridge. When she arrived she was unable to talk, walk, or feed herself. The caring hands and hearts at this place brought her to life!! My mother can walk with a cane, eating solid foods, and talks to me everyday-all day. The hands on care from the assistants was wonderful and the rehab team exceptional. Once she was able to eat, she started requesting her favorites from the kitchen. I cannot express how thankful I am and all credit to the Cambridge Team. Thank you for giving my mom back to me so that i can have more fabulous years with her.

This facility is going to kill someone! My brother is a current patient in rehab. He waits HOURS for response from staff. Equipment is broken. Special equipment (air mattress) ordered by physician not delivered for two weeks. Meanwhile his bedsores continue to worsen. Sits in own feces for an hour or more before being cleaned. NO THERAPY! Food mediocre and not enough. Does NOT receive all prescribed medication. If you want your family member to die send them here.

My mom stayed at Cambridge Post Acute Care Center for three weeks and developed a bladder infection, urinary tract infection, pneumonia, and bedsores. It was horrible. They didn't turn my mom in bed and didn't properly wash her. They had a lot of people there and they're yelling for help. The food was average.

My mother is in Cambridge Post Acute Care Center. The rehab part was good, but now that she has been moved over to the nursing home side, it's not as good. Her bed was not level. They don't get her to bed until about 11:00 at night. The only thing I know they do is the church service on Sunday afternoon. They lost her clothes and it has taken them a long time to find them. She said the food is OK.

The worst place to send an elderly person for rehabilitation.
The entire staff is more concerned about covering their behinds than actually providing care to patients and answers to relatives.
My grandparent was admitted in Jun 2017 or routine rehab for an minor procedure, and by December my grandparent is complete immobile, won't speak and refusing to eat.
Every staff member has a different answer and explanation about treatment and care.
I would advise anyone considering this facility to run!

My wife is in the rehab side of the New London Health Center. They are taking good care of her. They have nurses assigned to her section who seem to be concerned about her. They have been really good on her medications. It is close to home and easier for me to go to. It is clean and well maintained but not new as it has been there for a while. They have outside spaces where the patients can go out and sit, but it is still safe because they cannot wander.
