We searched for over a year for a place of my husband's aunt, Angela, who has Alzheimer's and her daughter, Lisa, who is autistic. We had several things that would be required for their care and Phoenix was a perfect fit. When my husband went for the first visit - he looked at me and said, "Thank you for finding this place for them." There are many things to say awesome about this place - but the thing I will never be able to say enough about the staff. From my initial visit they have been welcoming and warm. Many of them have gone out of the way many many times to help Angela and Lisa and us during this difficult transition. I am continuously impressed with the compassion, willingness, welcoming, helpfulness staff members. I just can't say how many times I have thanked God in my prayers for them and their guidance during this difficult but necessary transition for our Angela and Lisa.

I like the design of The Phoenix at Dunwoody and the fact that people can go outside and have a little walk in the garden. I visited the memory care and I like the people and the location too because it is very close to me. The rooms are priced right and they appear to be able to fill my wife's needs. The dining area seems to be very spacious, too. They have this great big area where they can do various crafts, activities, and there will be an instructor who can make a presentation with the screen on the wall. It has very safe surroundings and they have a bus that takes them to activities outside.

I was not impressed with The Phoenix at Dunwoody. It was not clean and it didn't smell good. There was trash out in the courtyard. The outdoor area was subterranean. It was below ground, so you're kind of looking up out of a hole. I did not like that place at all. That was the bottom of all of them. We looked at assisted living and memory care. The staff was informative. They were good. Most of the people were watching TV. I didn't see anyone using the outdoor area. I didn't see any gardening or planting outside. My dad's in a walker and shuffles bad, and there's no way he could have navigated getting outside there, so that wasn't good.

My aunt is in the Phoenix at Dunwoody. She seems to like the food. The people are nice, the other residents were good and friendly. I have not had a lot of interaction with the staff, but they seem to be fine. The place is kept up well and seems to be clean. The place felt homey.

They offer studio, 1 and shared rooms. The have recently redecorated and changed a lot so everything looks so nice and new. The rooms (studios) are a very good size and they have lots of activities on the calendar. All staff are friendly and speak to me every time I am in the building. The management is always helpful and my family member loved his caregivers. Plus the location is convenient to everything being so close to the perimeter!

My mother moved into The Phoenix at Dunwoody. It was less expensive because they were in the middle of remodelling, but it's a good facility. The people seemed to be caring there and seemed to be doing a good job. Everyone I am interacting with is friendly, and seem to care about the seniors there. So far, I have nothing negative, I had one lunch with her, and it was surprisingly good. They have quite a schedule of activities. Her room is pretty nice with a nice walk-in shower, a good-size bathroom, and heated lamps, so it's not cold when you get out of the shower. She has enough room for a double or queen size bed, a couple of chairs, a television, a dresser, and a couple of other pieces of furniture. The had socials, arts and crafts, excursions, and prayer meetings. Overall, the value, the caring, I think we've been pretty well, and my mom seems to be doing pretty well there.

The Phoenix at Dunwoody was a very lovely place. I really like it. The rooms were very nice and very spacious and the ones under renovation looked very promising. They had a lot of nice amenities. The residents looked comfortable and friendly. The staff during the tour was very informative and has been there over 10 years. She was very knowledgeable about the residents and the facility and what are their plans for the future. They were having lunch and everyone seemed very happy. The food was typical, and there was nothing fancy about it. They had activities scheduled, and the activity rooms seemed very spacious. I really liked the layout. It didn't look like a hospital at all.

The Phoenix at Dunwoody was very pleasant. The lady who toured us was very knowledgeable and open to questions. She could answer any question readily and seemed well-versed in both memory care and assisted living. The facility appeared to be very nice. Their memory ward appeared to be what it needed to be. It was bright and cheerful. One thing I was concerned about it is if you went out on the regular front porch or area, there was no protection to keep walking and you would be in the main thoroughfare. The people in the reception area and the dining room were all responsive and cheerful.

I went to The Phoenix at Dunwoody. It was lovely. I love the staff there. It was nice. They said they would knock down a wall and make 2 bedrooms out of 2 different rooms. It was great, but it was so far away. I had to take two of our very busiest highways to get there. It was only like twenty miles, but it took me over an hour to get there; that was in non-traffic. The dining area was good. I had lunch there, and the lunch was nice. The food was good. I sat down with 2 residents and had lunch. The residents might have just been quiet, but they had nothing to say, and they seemed a little distracted and out of it. There is no way my parents would have been able to carry on a conversation with these women.

I visited the Phoenix, it was very appealing, and the place was clean. They provided field trips for residents, and they also had brochures detailing different types of care for the clients. They had a hair salon and a full service cafeteria.

We visited Pacifica. It was a very nice place. The rooms were as spacious as any other place. We had a meal there, but the food could have been better. They have a list of different activities. What I like about this place is its location.

Met with their marketing director for a tour in June/July 2011. She said that they were getting ready to redo the place. It has a nice lobby and looked o.k..
I did not see a lot of people in the assisted living section, I sid see about 4 people in assisted living playing cards upstairs on the 2nd or 3rd floor and saw one gentleman still in the dining room eating during my visit. I saw more people in the area downstairs for people with dementia.
The outside area for the residents that had dementia was really small. I mean really really small. The main living room area was larger in that section and seemed large enough for the number of people they had that I saw - but not the outside area.
Some of the rooms in the assisted living area had balconies and that was nice.
The marketing director told me there was not a charge to take someone to the doctor and stay with them while they were at the doctor. I find that hard to believe, how can they have enough staff to do that? The other places in the area said that if a staff person had to stay with you then there was a charge for staff time (makes sense). I ask this specific question of the person that did the follow up call to me as well (not person that toured me) and was told no, there was no charge. When I called back to clarify, that is when I found out the marketing director was no longer there.

During frequent visits to this facility, I was always impressed by the staff on the main assisted living floor, and downstairs in memory care. The staff over all is very loving and hands on, which is not always the case in these facilities. Very warm and fuzzy, without being enabling. Whenever a resident passes away, a memorial and picture is put on display for the other residents to pray for them if so inclined. I like that. The place was clean, the food good, and the outdoor sitting areas comfortable. I also liked that they had fairly regular entertainment for the residents and guests, which were fun!

My mom lived at this place for a year We had 4 Directors and the employee turn-over was terrible.Meds were late messed-up or note given. The techs were not trained and when we did get Good nursing care they left with-out any reasons of why given to the pt.s or families. I am so glad to have my mom out. Beware!
