My dad is moving into The Landings at Norcross. It appears clean and appears to have a modern layout. He's on the third floor (which would be kind of a drawback), but they make rounds every two hours to check on every individual; so that helps. The rooms are adequate, and they 're up to date as far as the equipment. The bathrooms are large, and there's a large walk-in shower. It's basic, but it's very adequate.
We're just moving in, so I can't get in too much detail on the staff. They've been pleasant in working with us, but he's actually just moving in tomorrow.
They have a theater room, and they have games. No activities were going on at the time, but that's not a main focus for us. I haven't tried the food, but the menus look good; the variety looks good.

I only had my mom in The Landings at Norcross for 2 months. There were many issues with this community but the most serious was the emergency call light. Either it was broken, rung to a different room, caregivers did not respond to it or lack/delayed of response (as long as 1.15 hrs). As you know, these emergency alarms are a resident's lifeline. If there is anything else in the room that needs to work, it is the emergency chord. I was patient with the onsite Executive Director and her staff before filing a complaint with Bridge Senior Living, the management company, and started working with the Gwinnett County Ombudsman. They were somewhat responsive until I took my mother back to the facility for 5 hours to get her vaccine after having her out for a month due to the high number of Covid cases in the facility. She pulled the emergency chord twice in that amount of time and it took 25 minutes each time for an aid to respond. That day she was supposed to be closely monitored for interactions due to the Covid shot. After that... I filed a complaint with the Georgia Department of Community Health (HFR) as my last resort thinking if they got involved, the issue would be fixed. Coincidently, a few days after I heard that the HFR Compliance Specialist called the Executive Director, I was given a 30 Day Notice because The Landings were not able to meet my needs....not my mother's needs (the resident) but my needs. She never went into more explanation than that. The Executive Director verbally gave me the 30 Day Notice, never written documentation. I have since moved my mother out of the facility, but the State said they were required to provide me with written documentation which they still have not given me. This is the most unprofessional company full of unkept promises who would rather kick out a resident versus fix the problem which would be to upgrade their call light system but more importantly, train their staff to respond to it in a timely manner. If you treasure your loved one, I would NOT suggest sending them to this facility. This has been MY experience with this facility, if you do chose this facility, I hope you do not have a similar experience.

This facility will go out of there way to make their residents feel at "home" and welcome. Excellent communication skills between the resident and my sister progress. Don't hesitate to place your loved one in this facility

You do not want to put your loved one here. While my mother was visting with us in another state, I ask "Joel" the owner to lock mom's room and he said he would not allow anyone to enter, When we went to move mom's belongings out, her flat screen tv. was gone. The place is dirty. BEWARE!!
