About This Community

The BRAND NEW Community, opening in Early 2020, has a wide spectrum of living options under one roof.

Independent Living is for our residents who are loving the later years of life and looking to downsize or find a close-knit community of friends. It’s a wonderful mix of daily social events and peaceful retreat to your own suite. Envision a cruise ship on land.

Assisted Living is ideal for residents who value their independence but may need assistance with daily activities. Our assistance promotes independence and is accessible at all times of the day.

Memory Care is for our Elders who are living with some form of memory loss. Every member of the Thrive on Skidaway team is NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) certified. That includes everyone from the chefs and housekeepers to the concierge and nurses.

The Thrive at Skidaway was nice. I got to do the tour of the community and they gave me their brochure. They had independent living, assisted living and memory care and I did a quick tour of all of them. It's very nice because it's new too. I don't have any complaints about it.

My mom is currently in Thrive at Skidaway. It's been pretty good, just a few communication glitches. It's been fine, but I'm not overly enthusiastic about it. The workers are nice. It's fine, I would say it's average. My mom's room is great, her accommodations are nice. It's clean and it's a new facility, so it's very nice. The food is great; it's a lot of variety, and she has all the food she can handle. All meals all day and snacks. If she doesn't feel like eating in the dining room, they bring it to her in her room. The staff overall has been very good, like the day-to-day staff, the people that work in the dining room, the arts and crafts director. It's the people in charge of her care scheduling. Getting a reimbursement with the business people; it's been a challenge trying to get her long-term care, health insurance, and I coordinated everything with them. So that's been a very big frustration.
