My dad was living in Claiborne at Newnan Lakes. The overall staff was friendly and nice, but they were understaffed. They over-promised. The staff didn't seem certified to do what they were trying to do, and they just had a lot of staffing problems. His room was good. It was mediocre. The food wasn't what the brochure said. It was more hotdogs and baked potatoes. It wasn't really a well balanced meal. The dining area was typical. They didn't do a lot of activities, but they had a few. They just were so understaffed. The person that would be serving food would be doing the activities, and then they could be doing the medicine. You just never knew what you were going to get. They did bingo and a couple of things, but that's about it.

Claiborne at Newnan Lakes opened earlier this year. The facility is very large, new, and beautiful! The manager showed me around and pointed out details about the home. She explained the many daily activities and answered my questions. The residents were in their daily gathering, and were very friendly - they waved and spoke to me as I toured the facility. The rooms were especially clean and had brand new appliances with quality countertops. In choosing a retirement home, I would seriously consider this facility.

My mother is moving into Claiborne at Newnan Lakes. It is a brand new facility, just opened this year. She definitely wanted a two-bedroom, two-bath, and as much square footage as she could get. She also wanted a facility that would be close to the style in which she has been accustomed to living in her adult life. They really provide all of that. It's a beautiful place. She actually is going to be coming on off 20 acres with a pond lake and wooded, and so this place has a lake and it is wooded. It was really the only one that was like that. She just really liked it, and we liked it. We just made the decision on Monday. The food was actually good. We had baked chicken, onion rings, and sweet potato fries. I had a chili hot dog and dessert. I mean it was plentiful and a variety, so it was good. I think she'll get into the movie theater and the arts and crafts that they're doing. She may even do the book club because she's a reader. They do bingo. She would love bingo. They do a little happy hour in the afternoon. I think all of it will be something she'll experience.

I toured the Claiborne at Newnan Lakes. They were excellent. The price did not fit my mother's budget, but it's practically brand new. The rooms were very, very nice. The staff was very informative, very nice, and very good. They have a salon inside the building, a movie room, and they do activities. They had a great menu that we saw. They do play games, exercises, and chair exercises. They have church service. The location is a good spot, it's right next to a rehab.
