My mom is in Westbury Health & Rehabilitation Center Mcdonough. My mom has called us several times since she has been converted to a long-term bed, and the things we hear are that they don't change the sheets regularly. They take a very, very long time to answer and a lot of times ignore calls from the patients. My mom called us in the middle of the night saying she had to go to the bathroom, and no one would help her. These are basic things that should be taken care of, especially if you're paying such a high price. I'm not happy with them. When we visited my mom there, the staff members were accommodating and nice. But we get a different story when we leave.
They don't have a call light. The residents can call from the bed, but it doesn't show up on the outside of the room, so it doesn't alert anyone else. They need to improve the cleanliness as far as the patients go. My mom has called us several times, and she's been sitting in her urine for a long time. My mom had a small room, and there was barely enough room for me and my sister to move around there. It's such a small accommodation. I think it's too expensive for what you get.

My mother is a current resident at Westbury. She has declined even more in her general look and health since she was admitted to long term care. The staff doesn’t tend to basic needs. She has called family members several times telling us that they won’t answer her call button and that she’s sitting in her own urine. They don’t change the sheets on a regular basis. The rooms are incredibly small for having to pay $9000/ month. She was billed incorrectly many times over the last few months!! This place is terrible in every aspect!! Don’t do what we did which was going on a star rating!! It was false for our family and we can’t take it back now!!
did you say care

The family should have been informed of the changes to my sister’s health.
They are not taking care of their patients.
Unbelievable!!

Nursing staff is not the issue
Multiple CNA employees are marginal at best and are unfortunately unprofessional.
Kitchen staff are working on quality and the home is kept very clean.
Staff blamed patients and family about issues. Made people afraid to say anything.

My mother is staying in Westbury Health and Rehabilitation Ctr and most of the staff have done a really good job with her. My mother has been living there for two years. Some of the rooms are good, others are not so much. The food is not good at all. Everything else is good, and they're good at keeping my mom active.

My mother, Betty T. is a resident in this facility. The help is wonderful, and the workers really take good care of their patients. It made me feel good that I can leave and go back to my home in California , and know that my mother would be well taken care of. The rooms are good. The food is good.
I can honestly say that my interaction with the Staff is great. My sister and I are extremely thrilled with how the operation at the home is. Especially thankful for Sharon T. and her love for the patients.
Church is provided for the patients. There is a nice place where you can take your loved one out and sit and talk and just relax. Mom is content, and that makes me relax. I think maybe what can improve is that more CNA's to be hired . Meaning, so the nurses could have less stress on them. I appreciate the nursing staff , and the folks who helped us to get my mom in there. My sister Hannah and I are very grateful for the good care she gets.

Westbury Health and Rehabilitation is fine. They bathe my husband twice a week, give him his meds, change his bed, and clean his bathroom. It’s a shared room with two beds, and it’s OK. He was on the rehab floor for a month, and the rehab part is excellent, but the long term is not as good.

This is a wonderful facility. They are a city within itself. The nurses and staff are so friendly and caring. They involve the family with any concerns and well being of our loved one. They have many activities and exercises for the residents.
We were skeptical of a nursing home but, can rest knowing our loved one is well taken care of.
I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who has to take the step of needing help for a loved one.

During the week of October 17, 2011, I, as part of a group of Nurse Aide Training students from a local university, went to visit for one week Westbury Health and Rehabilitation Center in McDonough, GA, to do our Clinical portion of our class and to acclimate ourselves to a nursing home setting. The facility was adequate for its residents and was fairly easy to navigate, and was safe. Each section that the residents lived in and where the workers worked were delineated and easily accessible. The staff was friendly and patient with us, and they were careful, considerate, friendly, respectful, and gentle with their residents. They were orderly, and everything there ran on time. The residents did not live in filth or misery: everyone was well cared for. All of the essential parts of a living space for people -- the bathrooms, the kitchens, the bedrooms, the eating areas, the hallways, lounges, whathaveyou -- were in top shape, of good quality, and clean. The devices used day in and day out, like the mechanical lifts and the wheelchairs, were also in good shape and not falling apart. Each assistant and nurse was careful with everyone and everything. Lastly, the food at lunch was also delicious and clean, the kitchen staff was also very friendly, and the food was well-priced. All in all, it is one of the better places in Georgia for either someone new at nursing homes to work at or visit or someone looking for a good nursing home to live in, particularly if you are a nursing assistant student who needs a good impression of the kind of place where you may work someday.
