They are very unreliable. You call up there they send your call anywhere and never come back to help you. When my relative passed all her stuff came up missing. Had to wait a month to get death certificate signed, after calling several times and the local coroner. I know only a few take Medicaid plz stay away if possible just a headache

My mother was at this nursing home for almost a month before she passed away. It was close to where I live. I think they've done a good job.

A limitation is there are only three nursing homes in the whole county"”and this is the second best. This facility has 148 beds, divided into wards"”with four people to a room, shared baths, and only a curtain for privacy. There is the drawback of being very close to an airport, which can sometimes be noisy. Each hallway is outfitted with plastic vinyl furniture for residents to sit in, which soils easily and retains odors, so the place does have odors at times. The lunchroom looks like a school cafeteria, but there is a jukebox there, which some residents seem to enjoy. The activities here are limited to basic bingo and arts and crafts. There is nothing to do outside but gather in a tiny smoking area. There is also standard fare food, with few choices. Residents are made to eat in their rooms rather than a common area. The staff cares about the residents. There is a social worker and an RN on staff, and two LPNs. Each CNA has six residents to care for, which is a very good ratio. But one big concern is there's too much drama going on between the staff members; every one wants to get into one another's business. There is gossiping and talking on the phone, and sometimes residents are ignored. There is memory care, and residents are given bracelets that close the doors when they try to get out for security. None of the residents are isolated. There is a resident medical doctor just across the road and the facility is also located right near the hospital. This facility changed hands about three years ago"”and now it has more of a for-profit bent"”although Medicaid will cover all costs for most residents. Otherwise, care is expensive: about $3,000 a month. This is not a bad place, but there has been a problem with how the staff relate to residents at some times; they seem to ignore their training, either because they are burned out or just a bit lazy.
