I toured The Phoenix at Lake Lanier. It was a nice facility, with a lot of open space. I didn't care for some of the apartments though, they didn't have a kitchen. The staff did great. She was very accommodating, and showed me everything. Very good. There was a nice, big, dining area and they had an actual pub there so I thought that was pretty neat too. I know they have a movie theater. I know they had an activity sheet and everything that she gave me. Their food looked pretty good too. They looked like good menus.

Location was incredibly important, and The Phoenix at Lake Lanier is located on the lake. They were able to have full assisted living care and aging in place, so they don't ever have to leave. The person that gave me the tour was very knowledgeable and compassionate. She was focused on informing me and educating me about the process, more than selling me on the location.
The rooms were clean and bright. They looked well-kept. The entire facility looked like it was relatively new and had been well-maintained. I liked that. They have games, movies, book clubs, field trips, and exercise. Basically anything under the sun you can imagine, they have it. The people that I met there as well, I thought they were all very helpful and kind. They apepared very interested in the process. They're not just selling me on the place, but gave me information about the entire process of picking a place, which I thought was important.
It was very much set off of the main road. It was surrounded by a wooded area and overlooked a lake.

My father is over at The Phoenix at Lake Lanier. He's not happy but he won't be happy anywhere because he's 95. He's over there for now and with this Covid mess, I think he's just going to have to stay where he is right now. He doesn't really understand the Covid thing, he said he's going to hire a lawyer to get him out of there and that it's getting ridiculous because he's just in his room and can't go anywhere. I tried to explain to him but he's just like many others.
I don't know the ratio of workers to residents there. I didn't get an answer of how many they were there. They have to take into account that some of the elderlies, especially my dad who's been used to being waited on by my step-father for 42 years, he doesn't want to wait for anything. It was immediately handed to him. Now that he's there, I know they can't be just there at someone's beck and call, so he just had wait for everything, but I'm just concerned about if he would have an accident, that it would be cleaned up. Or during shower time, my father said a staff told him they're going to come back but they never show up and he never saw him again. Of course I went talk to the staff about it and they tell me it's not true but I'm not there to see that.
He said he doesn't like the food, he doesn't eat much of anything and that he doesn't want anything, he wants fast-food. When I talked to people there when I came to visit, they said he eats lunch and dinner and he eats pretty well but then I get a different story from him. That he doesn't want it and he wants me to get him away from there.
His room there is basic. He didn't want me to bring a lot of things because he's in a wheelchair so he didn't want the room to get crowded because he couldn't move around. It's basic, just a 1-bedroom, open with a bathroom and closet. There's a little cubbyhole for a little dorm-type refrigerator. I said I'd get him one of those but he said no. He just sits in his room and watches TV. He doesn't want to go anywhere. Which is strange because he was always active with gardening his vegetables and fruit trees and he was always working outside with the cows here.
Facility seemed clean in the few times I went in there. The staff, some are really good while others seemed a little bored of what they do.

This is an amazing place! Staff was very nice and greeted. This one particular went above and beyond. There is an Asian guy who greeted me at the front desk. He was so sweet and kind to me. He addressed my problems and solved it. Management is good. They make sure everything is going smoothly especially during the pandemic.

The Phoenix at Lake Lanier was the best if you can afford it. It's like going to a grand hotel. It's got the best of everything, but it's very expensive. They have large, studio type apartments, and they looked very nice and very clean. They had all the recommended equipment. The staff were fantastic there. It's probably the grandest of any of them I've seen, it's also the most expensive. They've got a big walking area, they've got outside patios and covered tables. It's just a fantastic place.

The Phoenix at Lake Lanier is very, very nice. It's right on the lake. It's close to my home, and they came in under budget. The staff is so nice, kind, creative, and they know how to deal with people. My dad is in assisted living, and my mom is in memory care. The rooms are huge. They're 16x16 with two ample closets, and a gigantic bathroom. The food is better than some I've had, and it smelled really great. They have a nice variety, and my mom seems to love the food. They have activities every day, and a big movie theater, and they have two movies a day that they play in that. They have shuffleboard and Cornhole. They have an activities room with all sorts of things to do. They have activities for the memory care residents to do, creative things, and even exercise programs. You get a lot for your money.

The Phoenix at Lake Lanier was very impressive. It's like a grand hotel. It's the most expensive of the ones I visited, but it's very nice and very well run.

My father stayed at The Phoenix at Lake Lanier. It was very clean. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. We were very pleased with our entire experience. They always did what they said they were going to do and took good care of Dad. The meals were very good. My dad was in a private room with a big bathroom. It was all updated with beautiful tile and a walk-in shower. He had two really big closets and a pretty view of the lake. They had a big theater and movies every afternoon. There were recliners with cup holders and popcorn and soft serve ice cream all the time. They had exercise, bingo, arts and crafts, and day trips to restaurants and different places.
