I visited Oaks at Fayetteville. They showed me the rooms and they had a small refrigerator. It's an older facility, but it's very well-decorated and very homey, it just made me feel at home. Even the dining for each resident had a place setting with their menu attached, and that was very personable. I didn't smell anything, it was very clean. They said they had 43 residents. I only visited their assisted living and only saw a couple of residents, so I didn't see a lot of people. I saw several workers walking around who were very polite and they said hello. I felt that I was rushed during the tour because somebody else was waiting. I told them it was OK, and they apologized profusely because they kinda forgot me there and I just sat for 30 minutes. They did their job even though there were a couple of interruptions. It wasn't perfect, but it was a good job.

I visited Oaks at Fayetteville for my dad and it was a nice tour. The facility was nice, it was clean, and it was very well-kept. The staff showed me around to the different areas where they do their activities, and the dining hall, and I got to see their menus. It was a nice facility. The staff that I met were nice and friendly, and the few nurses I passed by greeted me, so that was good. I didn't see any activities but I saw their activities listed and the time they would be doing them. The living atmosphere of the place was pretty nice.

Oaks at Fayetteville is a nice place. I would recommend it. I didn't have much of a tour because the lady that was supposed to lead the tour was not there that day. She was supposed to be in, but she wasn't. We looked at the room and kind of looked around a little bit. It wasn't much of a tour, but it was a nice place. It's a really nice place. The amenities are really good. They've got very good assisted living programs. They have music, movies, and bingo. They have just about anything you want to do to stay busy. The dining area was very clean, very nice-looking, and very tempting to eat.

We had an extended family member that's been living at Oaks at Fayetteville for about 13 years. It was clean and affordable. It has a resort-like feeling instead of what you think a nursing home or assisted living facility would look like. It is laid out like a hotel. There's a lobby, a dining room, a theater room, a courtyard, a formal dining room for families (if residents want to have a private dinner with their family members), and nice buses to take residents shopping or the doctor. Their rooms are very nice. They all have at least one bedroom, a living room, a huge accessible bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a refrigerator so you could store beverages and snacks. It was more like a condo apartment/ resort-type setting. I liked the way the staff dealt with their residents. They tried to lift their spirits. So, they knew their role.

I went to Oaks at Fayetteville yesterday. It's nice. Everybody was very friendly. It was very clean. There was no funky smell to it at all. I love that they have a menu that you can get all the time, and then they have the daily things. I love that they will chop or puree the food for my mom because they won't do that where she is now, and she has lost 20 pounds in four months. The rooms were nice, and I thought they were big enough. Things were fresher. They were in the process of replacing flooring and they paint between people. I like their floor plans and I like the people. The only thing that I don't like is that it's two stories, so my mother would have to use an elevator. Right now, her room is right off the dining area, and she is spoiled to that, but these you have to go up the stairs and then down the hall, which means she would either have to build up a tolerance or use her wheelchair. She would have to do one or the other because all the places have longer hallways and things, so she just has to get used to it, that's all. It's very nice, and it's close to my house, and the price is a lot better than what she is paying now and the people were really sweet. I could tell that the girl who does the activities seemed to have a rapport with the residents, and it was nice to see them all interact when they were getting ready to play bingo. It was just nice. The person who toured us was wonderful. She was super; she can answer any questions we have. It's an older building; it's like 30 years old. I've driven by it so many times and it has a lot of trees around it. I would like to see some more outside space that's more open, but they have an outside outdoor space that is pleasant. They have balconies with rocking chairs the residents can go out on, and that is lovely, so they can sit out in the shade and that's nice.

We have decided on Oaks at Fayetteville. My mother-in-law will be moving into their assisted living. We like pretty much everything about it. We spoke to a lot of people who work there. We like their professionalism. Everybody seems to be having fun. We also talked to some of the residents there, and one happened to be a former member of the CIA, and she had been living there for about 11 years, and she loved it. We like the activities. They are not too exorbitant. We've seen some other places where they were overly hyped. I really had no complaints about this place. The food was great. We even sampled the food. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law smokes, and they even have a smoking place that would not be too far down the hall from her room. They have a lot of different games and things like that, especially bingo, and it's probably the only game that my mother-in-law, she likes loves bingo. She hasn't played for quite some time, so she's going to enjoy that.

My mom has moved into Oaks at Fayetteville. Most of the staff members are very friendly and attentive. It's a relatively small place, so I think most of the staff members are familiar with all of the residents. For me, it's close by, so it's easy to get to. The food is relatively good. I know assisted living facilities and nursing homes are notorious for having terrible food, and the food is pretty good there. They had a Valentine's Day party where they had live music, and they had a special dinner for the residents, which is nice. They have bingo, they have an OT/PT organization that's on-site and that's fairly new. The residents can just walk down the hall and go to it. They also have a hairdresser there. They have a lot of trouble with medications. My mom hasn't gotten medications when she's supposed to, and there have been some missing medications. That's been a real problem. Another they have that I like is that they allow pets there as long as the residents are capable of caring for them. They lock the doors after a certain time at night like 4:30 or 5:00 to protect the residents, but it's hard, you have to ring a bell or call for somebody to come and open the door, and they don't always come promptly. So I think they're short-staffed as are most places right now.

We put my aunt at Dogwood Forest. It is great, and I do not have any complaints about it. The staff is wonderful. The rooms are like efficiency apartments depending on what you have, but they are very nice. My aunt says the food is fine. I have not eaten there, but she likes it. I know they take them shopping. They do exercise in the morning. They do bible study, bingo, and scrabble, and they play cards. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the place. It is fabulous.

I liked it very much, but my husband felt it didn't have enough for him. The women were lovely, and the nurses were nice. It was beautiful, and the rooms were lovely. The entrance and the downstairs where people mingle were very nice. They showed me the library. The women were playing Bridge, and they had puzzles. The thing that made us back off of it was that it wasn't too much for him to do. I suggest that they have a swimming pool, a game room, and activities for men.

The community is very nice and pleasant the residents in inspirations are all engaged. When I was there, their was a Tai Chi class and the residents apppeared to be having a good time. My friends mother really like dogwood, she has made friends and is a member of the Busy Bee club. They do things for the community like at the hospital make blanets and pillows for the cancer center.

It is like a home setting. It's only two floors to the entire building and they have a separate memory unit. They have their own cafeteria. It's a cozy and warm place. My aunt is sharing room with someone else. She has moderate stage of dementia, so they don't leave her in the room. Her room is enough for her needs, but they try to keep them out of their room and have small activities, games, and TV viewing. They watch them constantly. When it's time for lunch they physically bring them to lunch and when they're finished they bring them back into the recreation area. They see that they're dressed properly even if they can dress themselves. They check and make sure they evaluate their actions and they do an assessment every three months on them. They try to get them to do as much as they can on their own. They call me at home if anything is wrong.
