ontent: I met with the original owner (now retired) of Ashbrook Village in early 2018 for my mom and I was very impressed with the facility and leadership, and we moved Mom there soon after. Mom lived at AV for almost four years and my brothers and I appreciated the care she received. The staff members we got to know were kind and worked very hard. In an industry that seems to have a high employee turnover rate, it was nice to see that many of the staff members have been there for several years. Mom’s apartment had room for a double bed, sofa, two chairs, and a dresser. The closet space was adequate and she had a decent sized bathroom. The new director as of October 2021 is impressive and is very involved in the day to day operations. Ashbrook Village has nice social activities and amenities for the residents.

We toured Ashbrook Village. It was not what we had hoped it would be. It looked old, and we were disappointed that there is a $2000 non-refundable community fee that must be paid before they would even assess my father for what level of care he would require. It was small, with not many residents. While in memory care, the CNA was interacting with the members. We happened to be there during lunch and the staff was interacting. The assisted living staff were just seated against the wall, talking to each other, not attending to the residents. The staff who gave me the tour seemed somewhat surprised that we were there even though we had an appointment, and toward the end of the tour, she said she had to step away for another task and handed us off to another employee, who was unable to answer all of our questions. The building itself seemed to be well kept. The road, which I think is a private road entering into the facility, needed repairs, it had many potholes. But the building was maintained. We didn't tour inside the dining area because it was mealtime. We walked by and could see it through the window, but it appeared adequate. The tour did not include any outside areas.

We went to Ashbrook. It was very nice and where my sister has decided to move into. They said they will build a nursing home on the property. They had a daily schedule of activities. The dining area was very clean, and people seemed very happy with the food.

The rooms at Ashbrook Village are actually very nice and large enough. The staffs are mostly nice, but I'm not sure if the CNAs and Nurse Techs that are back there are really on the ball. My husband is in the memory care part of the home. I felt like the Nurse Techs and CNAs are really nice, and they will talk to me, but I'm not so sure when nobody is there if they are doing much. The food tastes OK, but I doubt they are given an adequate amount of food. In the memory care unit, I know that some of them have done some drawing on cards, and they have puzzles out there. At one time, the person in charge of the activities had a little golf thing on the floor. I don't think that they provide very many activities back there in the memory part, and I don't know if my husband will participate if they did. The place is very nice, but the head man is not that friendly and really not that helpful. He is somewhat of a smart alec, and I didn't realize that when I got my husband in there. Overall, I would have to say that it is very good. It is a very nice place, and where it is at is very nice looking. It appears to be kept really clean although in the past couple of weeks I've been noticing a smell in the memory care unit. I think it is because the people back there are not getting bathed, and I know my husband is one of the culprits, but they say that he just refuses to get into the shower. They have commented that it takes four people to physically get him in there. She said none of them back here want water.

We had visited Ashbook Village. The staff seemed nice, and they answered all my questions. They had nice big rooms with double beds, tables, chairs, closets, and a bathroom. They had a van service that takes residents to grocery stores, but I do not know if they had field trips. It was a very safe facility.

Ashbrook is well-maintained, well-managed, and I was very impressed with all the people I talked to. The rooms seemed adequate and of decent size. The bathroom was set up nicely; you don’t have to step over anything. There was a lot of storage space for what they would need. The dining facility looks adequate and it does what it is intended to do. I liked the place and I would recommend it. The residents seemed happy and content.

We went to Ashbrook Village. It was a fairly new and clean facility. We talked to the owner who was very helpful. He gave us literatures and showed us around. They had a new memory support in the Alzheimer's wing. It wasn't opened yet, but it was very nice looking. The assisted living part was very nice too. It was high-end and one of the more expensive ones but it would be a nice place to live. I liked the location and they had a good program of activities for the residents. They had a lot of different things. I would recommend them to others.

My wife and I were at Ashbrook Village Independent and Assisted Living. It was a quiet place. The staff were always present because there was an assisted living in the property. It was nice.

The reason my husband and I moved to the cottages is because we are planning for the future. Knowing my husband's health condition, he will one day require an Assisted Living Community and I can continue to live independently while he receives the care he needs from Ashbrook Village Assisted Living. It will be convenient for me and my entire family.

Boss Man
When my mother moved into Ashbrook Village, she was totally immobile and unable to care for herself. She wasn't speaking and was unresponsive to us. Once she settled in at Ashbrook, an intimate, assisted living facility, staffed with a compassionate team, their first concern is that of their residents; she slowly became herself. It was amazing! Within the first week she was up and about, eating on her own and acclimating socially to her new neighbors. Each week she improved more and more until we had our mother back.

I toured six Assisted Living Facilities before I made the decisiion to have my Aunt come to Ashbrook Village. The reason that helped me decide on Ashbrook was the cleanliness of the facility, the management and staff was very professional and the private suite and baths. I really liked the wide and open hallways and all the natural lighting. Now that my Aunt has been a resident for about a year, I know that I made the right decision because of the great care and love for her.
