Thrive at Green Island was immaculate. It was really a clean and friendly community to live in, and they've got all kind of amenities. They have a doctor on-staff and nurses on-staff. It's a really upscale assisted living facility. Everybody I met there was really friendly. They've got a chef. The dining area was clean and pretty spacious. They have a hair salon. The have plenty of amenities there, just about everything you could think of.
There was a waiting list for the one-bedrooms, but the room that they showed me was really nice. It had the handicap shower you could get in, and they're made for assisted living. It was a really clean and nice room. Everything there was well maintained and well kept up. Their only downside was it's pricy. It was over budget for us. It is the only reason they got ruled out.
My mom liked Thrive at Green Island. The people were very friendly and very responsive. Everybody was nice and the residents looked happy. When we were doing the tour, we went to one of their activities and they were doing some dances. As soon as she came in the door, the other residents put on some music for her and she just really made friends right away.
It's a one-level facility. So, it's easy to get around and she would have a much nicer room with more space to put her things. Plus, she will have a view of the courtyard. The food was great. When the staff members realized that we were still there during lunchtime, they brought us food. It was a home-cooked meal. It tasted great and she liked it. They're just a dream to work with. They have permitted us to move in her furniture before she gets there so that everything's set up for her. The assisted living apartment has a full-sized refrigerator and it's very nice. They also have a memory care area in the facility, which might be a service that my mom would need at some point. It'll be right there, so she won't have to go to another community.
They have a superior activity calendar. Once a month, they go to the River Center in Columbus where they have plays, musicals, and things like that. They go to a matinee showing and take them on trips in the van, which is great to get them out. They have a walking club, memory games, and balloon volleyball that the residents like. They stay very active. At different times during the day, they check on hydration, too, which is important for their seniors. Then they have very wide hallways that people can walk freely, even with a rollator. They have an app that I can download on my phone and that's where I will know what type of activities my mom would participate in a day.
I love the accommodation at Thrive at Green Island. Everything there was on one level. The staff was welcoming. I like the facility and everything. The dining facility, the apartment, the accommodations, and everything was a 5. I like the staff, the welcoming of the staff, the mindset of the staff, and more than anything the caring. I felt more of a spiritual component to their care. Their caring and love were unconditional. It's nice and big, but everything is at ground level. Upkeep was excellent.
We went to Thrive at Green Island. It's a fairly new facility, so it's very nice, and it offered a lot of the amenities that we were looking for. The staff who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly, with no issues whatsoever. They have suites, studios, and a variety of different options. We saw personal-care stuff, community events, and in-house events. They pay attention to detail on several life skills and life needs.
Amazing place. They take great care of my grandmother. Can't say enough good things about the staff and the facility.
