My mother was at this facility for one month and that’s all we could take. Food is terrible yes she lost weight. What finally broke the straw was they allowed her to run out of her heart medication and did not contact her emergency contacts. When she told us she wasn’t getting her medicine we took her from the facility. By that time it was very apparent that she was going into heart failure. We are very upset and dissatisfied with her care and hope that the other patients are not going thru this.

My mother was in here, and was complaining of swelling in her leg. The staff would not allow her to see a doctor and told my father she was making it up. Hospital records show she has a fracture in her tibia that caused a blood clot, in addition to a sprain in her wrist. They're saying she does it herself, as she's trying to move her wheelchair from being half paralyzed from a stroke. She said someone pulled her wheelchair so hard she fell out of it. Regardless of how it happened, she should never have been in a place for it to happen. Their refusal to get her medical attention is criminal. Do not send your relatives here.

Willow Creek Macon was very dark. The common area was very small, depressing, and dark. The room we saw was extremely small and without a private bathroom; you had to go down the hall for the bathroom. There was nothing about the place that we liked. Outside, it was not well maintained. The storage building was rusty and needed painting. It looked like you were going back in time because it had old furniture. I had a hard time finding somebody and even when I had an appointment, they said they didn't know anybody was coming. They didn't impress me.

Willow Creek Macon seemed depressed ,and they didn't have a lot of staff. It concerned me that they didn't have a lot of people there on a Saturday. It's a nice area, and they were in the process of doing some remodeling and new management, but I just wasn't impressed.

Willow creek is small, more personal and less of an institutional type feel. It's a house type setting with individual private rooms and they only have 20 to 23 residents. Everyone knows everybody and they accept Medicaid. The only issue we have and we're working on that right now is I don't think they have enough activities to keep the residents stimulated. It has a more homey feeling than others I've been in and the staff is very nice. I think my mom in law is comfortable there. They can improve by putting more safety measures like hand rails in the showers, more activities and food.
