My mother has been at the Steward House since Thanksgiving this year. She and our family have been extremely pleased with her accommodations and lifestyle. She is 94 and doesn't participate in many of the activities other than the church services. Her room is beautiful and always clean. Her bathroom has all of the facilities necessary for an elderly person. Plus, she as a private patio off of her room. The staff have been incredible - not only to my mother but also to our family - wanting to learn our names and talk about her needs. She is well seen about by the staff and enjoys the facility itself - it's an old home and has a lovely dining room, social area, outdoor porches and gardens.

The beautiful Stewart house was originally built by/ belonged to my Great Uncle Horace S. His brother, Wiley S, built a comparably beautiful house several doors down the street, having been destroyed with road construction. Most of my knowledge of that time was via my Grandmother Stewart, also my Aunt Martha S & father,Wiley Stewart H., tho I do vaguely recall visiting both houses when small. As the Stewart Family line is dwindling , they would be delighted with knowing such a loving environment is now provided for those seeking a safe haven for retired years and what place could be lovluer? A true Southern Mansion. Hopefully this may someday become my home as well!

Stewart House was nice but the rooms were very small. Each room has a small patio. It’s on a busy street, but they have land around back. The dining room is very pretty and the staff that gave me the tour was nice.

I place my mother in Stewart House Retirement. It is clean and I fall in love with it the first time I walk through the door. The rooms are nice and the people are outstanding. The staff is fantastic and so sweet. They are so loving and caring. They have activities and their meals are really good. I actually have breakfast there with my mom and couple times on dinner. I look at other places, but this is by far is really nice and I am really pleased with it.

My mother-in-law is a resident of this facility. My husband and I visit at least weekly, and are very familiar with the amenities. The facility is a restored antebellum type house in a very nice area of the city. It has been redone to include all the necessary items, as well as many beyond what is standard. There are private, individual assisted living bedrooms, as well as apartments for couples or more capable individuals. Residents quarters can be furnished with their own furniture. It is very homey and personal. The dining areas are actually 3 front rooms of the old house, each having a fireplace and Victorian type decorations. Residents eat at tables for 4 with nice table clothes, china, and centerpieces. There is an enclosed back courtyard with swings, paths, and a children's playground for visiting family. The staff is extremely friendly and capable. We get calls if any small incident occurs that is out of the ordinary. I would certainly rank this as top notch, and recommend it to anyone.
