I visited Legacy Ridge at Woodstock. It was an older building, but the general manager was the most incredible woman I've ever met. It had a very warm environment. I would trust them with my mom, definitely. They had a pretty nice outside area with a path, and they had a gazebo in the back, which I liked. They also had a garden area.

We toured Legacy Ridge at Woodstock. They're very informative. They gave us a lot of information regarding the care that they provide. The facility was very pleasant to tour. The rooms that they had available were very spacious. We met with the activities coordinator. We chatted with that person for about five or ten minutes. She was very informative and open to any questions. They provided us with an activity calendar just to show us what kind of activities they planned out for the entire month, and it's typically Monday through Friday. They showed us their activity center where they bring in their residents and do crafts and things like that.
They showed us the dining area, which is like a restaurant. We were very pleased to see that they encouraged the residents to come out and communicate and see other residents and share their meals together. They have a physical therapy room. They have contracted a company that comes in and provides physical therapy if it's required. We got to meet their on-premises chef, and we chatted with him. It was very nice and very informative. They gave their pamphlet of the pricing per floor plans. They have four different floor plans. They have a base cost, and then depending on how much assistance is needed, then it varies from there and it goes up. The rooms were very nice and spacious. We were quite pleased to see that. The location of it is very convenient for us as well.
After we toured the rooms, the coordinator brought us back down into her office and we were chatting, and the chef came in and he basically prepared two to-go plates for my girlfriend and I to taste the food that he prepares. He's a very pleasant and very informative chef. The food was very good, very delicious, and very well presented. The facility was a little bit dated, but it was very pleasant.

Everything was great about my visit to Legacy Ridge at Woodstock. I have no negative comments. I did a tour of the whole facility, and we looked at the available assisted living rooms and the rooms for memory care. They have lots of activities and they have most of what you would expect from the folks. They have amenities for getting their hair and nails taken care of and laundry. The overall physical condition of the facilities was great and well taken care of. I haven't tried the food, but their menu has lots of different offerings and so forth.

Everybody at Legacy Ridge at Woodstock was nice. I just toured it and it was very nice. I liked the staff a lot. It was just a quick 15- to 20-minute tour and we talked about the cost and stuff like that and then I left. The rooms were kind of what I was expecting. I thought they were going to be adequate for what we were looking for, for mom.
It looks like they kept people pretty busy. Everybody was very friendly and that's one of the things you're looking for. You don't want to put your parent in a place where everybody seems unhappy. They were very attentive and very nice. I think they keep the residents happy. They plan a lot of different things to keep them engaged and make sure they have activities and stuff to do during the day. I remember there's a salon available. They had a physical therapist on staff. They had a library and a private place if you wanted to bring the family and sit down and just have dinner. My experience was favorable. The staff was great and very helpful.

Legacy Ridge at Woodstock was very nice. The building hasn't been renovated yet. It's due to be renovated next year. The resident rooms were much nicer. They got the updated rooms, but not the updated building facilities just yet. The staff who assisted us were great. They had amenities but they were not as nice as some of the other places. They have studios, extended studios, and one and two-bedrooms.

The apartments at Legacy Ridge at Woodstock were beautiful. Everything about the place, including the dining area, was perfect and clean. The place was excellent. They have activities like puzzles. Everything about the tour was excellent.

Brookdale Woodstock was good. The things I saw that they were lacking were they had a mini fridge instead of a full-sized fridge, and the room was somewhat smaller. They had an exercise and dining area. The place was really clean and everybody was really friendly. The staff was great, very nice, and we sat down and talked for a long time about the facility and how they operate.

The director of marketing at Brookdale Woodstock was very nice and helpful. The facility was not as nice, and their shared room setup was 2 beds in one room; my aunt wouldn't go for that. They didn't have any availability anyway.

Brookdale Woodstock is relatively new, very nice, and clean. It had a nice outdoor area and a sitting area in the back that was very nice, clean and attractive. The staff we met were all very nice, friendly, and helpful. The dining area was very nice.

I really liked Brookdale Woodstock. They were the most helpful among all of the facilities I’ve visited and the most understanding with what was going on with my mom-in-law. I saw the studio room, which had a kitchenette with a living room/dining room combination and a refrigerator, and it was exactly what we needed. They were willing to work with us about Mom’s dog being brought in. The staff put up a welcome sign for me and my husband when we visited.

Brookdale Woodstock was a two-storey, so it's very difficult. I went there in February, and it was a cold rainy day, so nobody was going out, but they do have a large front porch. It happened to be right behind a commercial area, so the view that you have while sitting on the porch is looking at all the commercial stuff. The rooms were adequate. It had a little refrigerator and a microwave. The outside was not as presentable, but it's a very nice place. The rooms were reasonable. The space was nicer than the room I saw at the other Brookdale. They had art classes, meeting areas for therapy, people came in for fixing or hair cutting, library, and volunteers coming in for singing and music.

The staff at Brookdale Woodstock was great. The place was clean. Everybody knew everybody else. They have staff that has been there for over 10 years. All the people that were staying there had great things to say about it. It’s just topnotch. The room that they had available was great, but it was way too small. It was just a bedroom, which was totally insufficient for my parents.

The only facility that we looked at for my uncle was Emeritus at Woodstock Estate, and they were very wonderful. The community was very clean and organized. They were very well staffed. The office women were great. They were very knowledgable and helpful with all our questions, and they were also very patient.

The price at Emeritus was out of range for my in-laws. The facility is very nice. The floor plans are nice, but when you're dealing with elderly people at this age, one and a half bathrooms is the way to go. As far as the facilities that they offer, they're nice.
When I was a kid, I remember visiting nursing homes with a distinct atmosphere or smell of nursing home. It didn't have that. It was more inviting. It was clean, well-maintained. The staff was helpful, and the residents were all engaged in something. Some of them were just sitting or talking, but others were engaged in an activity; it seemed like a sewing group or something. The grounds were well-maintained; that was my first impression.
It's a fairly new community. It didn't show any wear to speak of. Inside, the staff was helpful. My wife and I had a nice little tour. It had a café. We didn't eat there, but I saw the menu. By observation, I could see that the food was well-prepared. It looked like they had variety for the people, which is good, especially with my in-laws. They like variety. My wife was pleased with it.

One of my friends was there at Emeritus at Woodstock Estates, so I know this facility quite well. We visited this one for my other friend because of the location. I definitely like its location. My first impression of it was that it was clean. Also they were very nice. It was around Christmas when we went, so they had Christmas decorations and all their little crafts. Their rooms were clean. I was surprised at their double occupancy room. Initially I thought it was going to be more like a hospital room with just two bedrooms, but it was not. They had a wall between the rooms and that was good. They had a little sitting room where the their occupants could watch TV just outside the bedrooms. With regards to the staff, their work ethic was good. They hadn't bugged us too much but they had been very helpful and followed up on everything. They had been fine.

Emeritus had a happy atmosphere and it was clean and very well kept. It looked very well organized and all the staff was friendly. My uncle though wanted something more intimate, he doesn’t want too many people. I would recommend it to others if money wasn’t a problem.

We were looking for a place for my brother and Emeritus was the one that we visited for him. It is two-story facility and I didn't like that. They do have elevators but when you're in a wheelchair, you don't need to go up and down elevators. Their rooms were pretty spacious and their activities were about the same as with other facilities, but the grounds didn't look as nice. I asked a few of their residents if they're happy, and they said yes; however, I just wasn't as impressed as I was with the other facility. Regarding staff, all that I met was very nice and polite, but again, I wasn't as impressed with them and neither was my brother.

The staff was very attentive. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The rooms are nice and the halls are bright and cheery. The public spaces are intimate but a little dark. I would have liked brighter public space. The personal care garden was pleasant. The memory care needed care.

I didn't like the atmosphere at Emeritus at Woodstock Estates when we visited. I disapproved of the way the staff treated us. The rooms were not cozy and had no carpets.

The second best thing about Woodstock Estates is the first impression. Woodstock Estates tries to capture the look and feel of classic Southern architecture - columns, a sprawling main house, prominent brick construction. It's a classic style, that will never go out of fashion. It's comforting and comfortable. As you drive up you feel more at home. However, the best thing about Woodstock Estates is the second impression. Everything's so clean! The staff is so attentive, and friendly. There's plenty of activities, and a variety of places to eat, and even an on-site beauty store (I was surprised, and kinda confused at this, but my grandmother seems to like it). Everyone - staff and residents - seems so happy and friendly. In addition, it's so close to home. I live just down Highway 92 from here -- right around the corner. I can visit my grandmother and her friends pretty much any time I want. After work, during lunch, any time I have half an hour free.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woodstock Estates to my friends' parents/grandparents.

This facility is easy to get to"”right off the main road and near shopping and restaurants, but not so close that there's road noise.
When you walk in, Woodstock Estates has the look and feel of an older style of southern mansion. And the first impression is a good one: The facility is very clean"”with a nice dining room on one side and living room on the other.
There are also many places throughout for the residents and visitors to gather in and socialize. And there are several spots throughout the facility offering refreshments throughout the day"”and good amenities, including a beauty shop on the premises.
There are two floors; the second floor is a memory care unit, which is separate from the other assisted living housing and care.
There is a good staff-to-patient ratio"”which is especially important for the memory care residents.
There are both private and semi-private apartments. The rooms are adequate and average. Private rooms have their own bathrooms and kitchen areas, and enough space for a dresser and TV.
In the memory care unit, there are shadow boxes outside the doors, which helps stimulate old memories for some residents, and gives a visual key to his or her interests and past.
Food selections are rotated on the menu, although not many choices are available each day.
Lots of activities are offered here, including onsite holiday parties and outings to movies and Wal-Mart.
This facility is owned by Emeritus, which generally has a lot of turnover, but the executive director here has been on staff for a couple years and is very knowledgeable. Also, the nurse on duty makes sure that residents are treated respectfully and pays special attention to them.
The cost is reasonable"”at least for most residents at first. But one thing about Emeritus management is that they put a person at a certain level of care, then put on pressure to pump up the need for care as time goes by"”and there are additional charges for the increased care.
This facility physically has all most people need, but not much more. I give it a high rating because the staff is so great with the residents.
