I toured Sadie G. Mays Health and Rehabilitation Center, but I didn't like it. It looked outdated, it didn't look like a place I would want to put my mother in. The lady that gave me the tour was ok, she went over and explained everything. I only toured a certain area and they didn't have any beds. The facility didn't look that clean and was not impressive to me. They had a big room where a lot of people were sitting in their wheelchairs, but I didn't particularly like it. I think they need to refurbish and update their facilities. The little courtyard looked horrible compared to the other place I saw. How they take care of the residents was like they were just pushing them like cattle to be in their community room. It's located about 15 minutes from a hospital.

My mother has been a resident of the facility for about five years. She is now nearly 100 years old and a bit more frail than she was when she first became a resident. I was pleased that the environment is sort of family-like and provides my mom a sense of warmth and comfort. Given the fact that she has dementia, my mother can’t make new memories, but the sense of caring on the part of staff and even many residents help her to feel that she’s among good people who are very kind to her. The rooms are comfortable and kept very clean, and the camaraderie between my mom and her roommate aids tremendously in her having a sense of safety.
Before COVID interrupted the smooth flow of daily activities, the residents had fun things to do, music, games, exercise, art and performing artists who entertained them. They also were able to partake of various religious activities. I hope those things will resume soon. I do have some concern that there needs to be a better variety of food on occasion. It’s getting better and my mom seems to be enjoying her meals and eating almost all of what she’s given on any given day.
I feel that our community is blessed to have such a historically important venue in our midst, which provides a great service to our most important segment of the community —the aged—and we have a duty to get involved and help it to continue being a successful institution that will serve generations more of our treasured citizens.
I will encourage others to use this facility for their loved ones and ask that they support it generally because it serves the needs of the community and represents the foresight of Mrs Sadie G. Mayes to establish a top notch
Institution, open to all, in our community.

Treatment of my wife's grandma is WELL below the standards that you would expect from a facility such as this.

I found the Sadie Mays Health and Rehab Center to be quite a pleasant experience as I recuperated from surgery. There was 24/7 care and attention. The staff was very professional and always willing to help with any of my concerns. There were also various activities there to keep us active and entertained like chair yoga, the Atlanta Community Choir composed of many former band teachers and their students, spiritual services and the great Golden Chorale spiritual singers and of course bingo and other fun activities. My room was rather clean and spacious too. In addition, the physical therapists and occupational therapists kept us moving and strengthening our bodies as well. I would recommend this facility to anyone trying to make a decision about placement for themselves or loved ones. I was released last week after spending just over a month there..Oh...one day we even ended up being interviewed on the WSB Channel 2 "People to People" program!

This facility is very well staffed with well trained people. Additionally, there is a pleasantness that you feel from the time you enter the door and meet the security and staff manning the sign in desk that continues with staff throughout the facility! The staff is caring and friendly to the residents and to visitors. The building is well maintained and odor free. The residents are kept very clean as well. I am very pleased with the services being provided to my elderly parent!!

Sadie G. Mays (Sadie G. Mays Health & Rehabilitation Center) is nice and pleasant. I enjoyed the conversation I had with the people. The room accommodates 2. It’s nice size. My mom needs special care, so she needs basically occupational therapy type of living quarters. I do have a good experience with them.

I had visited Sadie Mays, and it was well taken care of. It was a nice facility, and they seemed to be attentive. The daughter of the person I visited was very happy with it. It was very clean. When you went in, you wouldn't smell odors.
