My sister and cousin moved to Holiday Cherry Laurel and they have excellent staff. They're organized, professional, and very patient. I like that they don't talk too quickly. They talk slowly with good diction, distinctly. Even the help, the waitresses, and the cleaning people are all very polite and very professional. They have good listening skills and excellent teamwork. We like the central location. It's close to doctors, shopping centers, food stores, and the post office. The food is excellent in the dining room. Their apartment is spacious, clean, quiet, and overlooks a green area with lots of trees and grass. They also have an easy entrance to the facility from the parking lot. Not one person that we talked to has said that they don't like it there. Everyone likes it there. There's a lot of camaraderie among the residents. We met the social director and entertainment director. They have lovely music three times a week in the afternoons and lots of activities. They are even coming to their apartments this week to talk to them about what activities they might enjoy there. It's great.

We liked Holiday Cherry Laurel. It's been a good place for my mom for all these years. They have good meals, nice rooms, and good security. There are a few cons as well. There's only one elevator in the facility. It's a three-floor facility, so if that one elevator goes out, people are pretty well confined to their floors. Also, they have a very high turnover rate in their management. There's been a lot of managers in and out of there. They have excellent maintenance facility staff, but they've also had their shuttle bus down for an extended period of time on numerous occasions. Other than that, it's been a good place for her to be.

I like Holiday Cherry Laurel for my mom. I think that's the one we're going to go with. I like the facility, and they got Rusty that I was dealing with, who seemed to be pretty straightforward, honest, and very welcoming. It just seemed like it would be a nice place for my mother to stay. I liked the staff member a lot. He is very informative. He seemed like a really good guy. The facility itself was nice. They have a courtyard, a library, and two or three different dining and snack areas to hang out. It seemed like it would be very good and friendly.

I went to Cherry Laurel. The people were very friendly and very forthcoming. The place was very clean. I ate lunch there, and the food was good. They have a menu, so I could select from four or five things for lunch. I had a chicken casserole dish that was quite good. I don't cook for myself very much anymore, so it was kind of nice. They had quite a few amenities. I didn't pay close attention to a lot of that because I was still struggling with whether or not I can afford it. So I didn't go into that a lot, but the staff showed me that they have a small gym, a library, and a room where they can show movies. They also had different kinds of activities that were posted during the day about doing activities that you would enjoy. I can't remember what exactly they were, but I do remember they were there. They're going through some renovations right now, so it's a little bit substandard as far as being older, but it's still very clean and very nice. I enjoyed the surroundings.

I toured Cherry Laurel, and it was a nice place. I'm just not sure my dad is really mobile enough for it. It is mostly independent living, and you tend for whatever services you needed. I would describe it as very clean and really nice. I think if my father was a little bit more mobile, that would be good for him. I'm not sure that it's the place for him. It's some place I would want to be, and I'd want to put my father there. It had a nice dining room. They had an upstairs community area with a little library. They had an exercise room. Everybody was very friendly, too.

Cherry Laurel was very nice. The staff did well. The rooms were clean and brightly lit, but slightly undersized. The dining room was nice, spacious, clean, and looked like a nice restaurant. They were all good.

I did an in-person tour of Cherry Laurel. I'm very familiar with Cherry Laurel because my mother was a resident there as well. It was excellent. The staff was excellent. They were very friendly and helpful. I would be interested in it if there wasn't COVID right now. At the time that I tried their food it was good. The facilities were clean and well taken care of.

We're moving to Cherry Laurel. It suited our needs fine, it wasn't as fancy as the other places we visited, but the size of the apartment we picked out was good, and it seemed very homey and comfortable. The staff member was very helpful, and she's still being helpful. We're trying to get into the apartment, but because of this virus, they can't get the new carpeting, cabinets, and other things they're going to put in there. The food was very good, and I think it was the best of any place we visited.

Cherry Laurel was very nice and I liked it very much, but it's way overpriced. The person who gave us the tour was very helpful with the property, but she was not helpful with filling out the proper paperwork. I had lunch there but the food was just fair. They have a pool and a beauty salon. There's also somebody who comes in and does massages.

I visited Cherry Laurel and I liked it. lt was clean, friendly, it’s very well laid-out, and even though my mother hasn’t decided to go yet, when she does, that’s the place I will put her in. The director is very friendly and very willing to help. They have a gym, library, chapel, dining room, and they have a kitchen where the residents can cook if they want to. They have a movie room where they can play DVDs on a big TV screen, they have all sorts of functions, and they have a craft room.

Mother was staying her until she had a fall and had to be moved to somewhere with occupational therapy on-site. Even with a doctor's note stating it was medically necessary for her to be moved to a unit with OT on-site, Cherry Laurel staff as well as their superiors refused to reimburse mother for the prorated rent due (nearly $1000).

Beautiful facility! Apartments are spacious & very bright. Only down side is that there is only one elevator. Having a freight elevator for moving in would be so much better.

The amenities of Cherry Laurel are in need of a total remodel. The people were nice, but the facility had just really been allowed to disintegrate.

My mother is currently in Cherry Laurel. I am certain that everybody has problems whenever they moved into an independent living situation, but it has been mostly very good. The cleanliness is very good, but the food sometimes leaves a little to be desired; some days they have great meals, and some days why bother. There is no problem with the cleanliness or the staff or the apartment.

I loved Cherry Laurel. It was wonderful. The person in charge of recruiting and all of the residents were all happy and chatty. It was so neat and clean, and they had some of the nicer rooms. They offered a lot, and the menu looked good. It was independent living, and if my parents needed help, they would have had to bring in their own person.

Cherry Laurel was very nice and in a very nice location. I ate lunch there, and it was good. I sat down with the director of marketing, and we toured the place. They had a lot of activities including during the meal, and they seemed to want to keep the people busy. The only problem I have with it is it’s not an assisted living home -- only independent. I am looking for independent that can transition to assisted living.

Cherry Laurel is a great place, but too pricey. The staff was very nice. They have a gym, but they don’t have a pool. They do have different activities like bingo,

We have visited Cherry Laurel. Everybody was quite courteous. They were a large community. I would say they probably had at least a hundred units. The rooms looked very clean, and they had different sizes. It was a good and clean community.

Have been looking at this place with my parents for a few years. We just visited this week and are very pleased....very clean, lots of amenities....Managers are very helpful and available at most times. Appears to be the best spot in town! Will write another review once they are in ;-) So looking forward to having parents in town!

I like Cheryl Laurel because it's more of an open and brighter place. If I can sell my home, I want to move there. From my visit there, I saw that it’s a cheerful place. The apartments were nice. From all the facilities I've visited, I like this facility the best.

Cherry Laurel is centrally located in Tallahassee on Mahan Drive. The facility is older but in good shape. Overall the building is well designed and used to have good food, good managers and staff that cared about the residents. There is only one elevator which at meal and activity times gets crowded. Cherry Laurel has had 8 different managers come and go in the last 9 months. It appears to be under different ownership that is emphasizing the bottom line;by raising rents through a "lock in" tactic, cutting back on food and activities and quickly cycling through managers to force people out. This place has fallen quickly and is not what it used to be two years ago. We will be looking to leave soon since there are better places in Tallahassee. It used be better.

Cherry Laurel is great; I really like it. I've been back several times since the first visit because periodically they have functions and have people come visit them again. The staff was very nice. They've been changing a lot though. When I go back the next time, the same people may not be there. Either shifts or perhaps they moved on and got another job. The rooms were very nice. I'm lusting after one. You have your own room whether it's a studio or apartment or a 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom. They have all kinds of little activities like for St. Patrick's Day. They had some dancers there who did the jig that they do in Ireland, in costume and things.

Cherry Laurel is a wonderful place for Seniors to retire. With all of the daily chores taken care of for my parents, all they hve to do each day is enjoy the activities, that are constanly offered throughout the day. With a month to month, all inclusive apartment fee, my parents don't have to feel locked in. They didn't even sell their house first. They tried it for a few months to make sure it weas right for them and now they could not imagine lining anywhere else. Thank you Jennifer at Cherry Laurel, for taking care of my parents!
