Brookdale Bluewater Bay seemed comparable in terms of the staff caring about the residents. They had a good number of activities and events on the schedule, but they do have fewer amenities. They don't have a pool or a hot tub, or as many nice common areas in the building, and the rooms are much smaller. They usually don't have couples staying there. The rooms are very small, and there are only two couples in the entire facility. I'm looking for my parents who are still together, married. The biggest downsides were the lack of amenities compared to other places as well as the smaller rooms. I think they cater to single residents; almost every room was a single resident.
They have a courtyard, gardens, and open space for pets. It was nice. My parents are still able to use stuff like a pool and whatnot, so I just preferred that, but they didn't have outside amenities like that. I think they're all ground floor. They can put what they want outside their window. That was kind of nice because, at other places, you can't necessarily put what you want outside your window on the ground.
The person who gave us the tour, Kelcie, was pretty good. She's the person that's kind of in charge of all the marketing. She gave us the tour and made sure all my questions were answered. She was very good; I just want to make sure she's recognized.

We had a wonderful experience when we toured this facility! Barbara and Kelcie were very welcoming, and those residents we encountered seemed to be enjoying the activity planned for them (the activity director was leading them in a memory game). The facility itself is very nice, and you can tell they're committed to keeping everything up. Met one of the caregivers, and was impressed by her love for the residents and skill with which she cared for them. Would highly recommend this location!

When you enter the front door you are greeted by a smiling team member and asked how can I help you . The ED was introduced and showed the rooms available . The room were freshly painted with new flooring .
As we walked down the hall ALL staff spoke (which is unusual ) . Crosspoint church was having service and singing as we passed by .
The community was decorated for fall and made you feel at home . The community is has a large outside countyard which a couple of residents were watering the flowers . Overall I would definitely place my mother in this community

This facility seems accommodating. While visiting, however I noticed while walking by staff members in the hall way, they were on their cell phones and there was no interaction between them and residents as well as the visitors. This made us feel they were ignoring the residents and it made us feel uncomfortable. when attempting to have a conversation with the a staff member she said that she was just wasting time, and then she got up and walked away. My mothers room was not cleaned sufficiently. There was a lot of dust in the corners and under the beds/couches. Shower was dirty with the presence of bugs (dead and alive) nesting in the corners and on the walls, toilet was dirty. There was a smell in the room that was difficult to manage. This was after staff had cleaned the room on Saturday and we were there on Wednesday (4 days). Patients with residents seemed minimal. There did not seem to be a lot of interaction between staff and residents just tolerating the residents.

My mom is at Brookdale Bluewater Bay. It's a home-like environment with lots of interactions with people her own age. She thinks that the food from the other facility is better than the food in Brookdale, but then it's a matter of taste. They are very caring and very attentive to her needs there. They go out of their way to make her comfortable and feel safe and secure. She's not been there a full weekend, but in reviewing the activities that they have daily, there are a number of activities that she will enjoy, like arts and crafts, needle work, movie, and Bible study. She's just now starting to see everything that she'll be able to have after she gets out of quarantine. They're quarantined for five days. It's an excellent value.

I toured the Brookdale Bluewater Bay. It was OK. The rooms were standard for assisted living places. The staff was very friendly, answered all the questions, and gave me a packet of information. The facility looked good and clean.

We visited Brookdale Bluewater Bay and saw a studio and a one-bedroom, which were average sized. They had plenty of activities. The dining area was average. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a clean and older property but above standard.

Brookdale Bluewater Bay was nice. The staff was very nice and friendly. I saw the rooms, and I liked the rooms there better because the layout of them was a little bit better. The sanitation looked fine. I liked the way that it looked. It was very appealing.

Great people, but note enogh staff. When staff was limited, it forced RAs to ignore residents' calls, including one saying, "Help me, help me, help me..." Caregivers answer phones at night, taking staff away from residents. I have a photo of a straw sticking straight up in a container of solidifying Ensure in resident's room, and fecal dust on a toilet seat (from dried fecal matter on protective underwear). The a la carte personal services for prescriptions and continence care apparently didn't include these.
I would like stock in this company, since they must make plenty of bucks.

The staff at Sterling House was very friendly. Everybody was very pleasant, I enjoyed the tour. Unfortunately, it didn't feel like the mix there was right for my mom. My mom is only 66 years old. The current client base at Sterling House was exceptionally older and my mom thought it was kind of like being a zombie, there was no conversation patient-wise. The patients were just sitting there in total silence and it was meal time. They were not accommodating, they didn't speak, they were sedentary, they were just quiet and almost sedated. The rooms that we saw were nice. There was a wide variety of room options available with different price points. They were under renovation so the maintenance was being improved. You get what you pay for; the more you pay, the more space you get. They had events at night and they had things happening. The people that we spoke to there, they were very nice people, it had nothing to do with them. It was not a fit for my parent.
Please be sweet

Too few activities--many activites on calendar were non-existant, esp. on weekends and afternoons.. Good food. Bathing and cleaning need improvement. Resident not bathed, room not cleaned. Expect to pay extra for minimal services.
