I cannot say enough positive comments about this facility. Having a family member transition is always hard on both the one changing from independent assisted living to memory care assisted living. The staff is amazing, they truly treat my Mom like she is their own, making sure her initial nights went well and were so patient with her. If you are looking for a safe and caring environment this is the place. I really could not ask for a better blessing for my Mom as I know she is in the best hands.

We chose Bon Secours Place at St. Petersburg because they offer the extended congregate care that allowed my parents to be together rather than having my father be in skilled nursing and my mother be in assisted living. I like it. It's very family oriented and set up very differently from most assisted living places. They have very small dining rooms. It's set up in wings and the dining room is in the middle of the wing, which gives them a more intimate atmosphere. The food is excellent. They have music, worship services, Sittercise, and happy hours. They do a pretty good job compared to other places.

My father stayed at Bon Secours before he passed away, and we were exceedingly happy. He was there for about 6 weeks. They help with bathing, feeding, and medication. I was very satisfied, and they were very helpful.

My wife was in Bon Secours Place. It is a good sized building. Their room was very nice and very pretty. It was very expensive. So I had breakfast there, but I never had lunch there, and supper was meaningless. The food there was mediocre. It is a very pretty place, and the room was not bad. The room was a little better than average. There wasn't much doing there. I wasn't in there very long. My wife was next door so I was with her most of the time. I find that it was very expensive, and I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Bon Secours Place was excellent, and the environment was top notch. The staff was extremely caring and very attentive. The food was decent, and the environment was so lovely, I would go and stay there now. It’s a Catholic run facility, but you don’t have to be Catholic to stay there. The attentiveness of both the nurses and the CNAs really was outstanding. There was a lot of familiarity with everything and that kind of thing.

Mom has lived here for almost 3 years. Making the transition from living in her home to my home, and then my home to here was not easy. Mom adjusted much quicker than I thought, and mom loves it. She has friends, goes to activities - none of which she did before, goes out to a restaurant every now and then, gets wonderful meals that even I love, and her apartment is just right for her. The staff to resident ratio is great, and the staff are caring. If there is an issue, it is always addressed - they try to keep really good help here and treat the residents with quality loving care; the staff are usually with the residents - helping them in their room or neighborhood or kitchen areas. There is a nurse on site always, and wonderful activities coordinator. The spiritual aspect (Catholic as well as non-denominational) is also nice. Everything is contained in this facility - even doctors if desired. It has only 3 floors and the neighborhood concept makes it easy for residents to remember where their rooms are. Since its smaller, staff are more readily available. It has stairs and an elevator. It is clean with house keeping services for the residents. Once the staff gets to know the resident, they begin to understand their needs. I am blessed to have found this place. I looked at 15 others - between Tampa, St. Pete and Palm Harbor. None can be perfect. All require involvment and relationship building with the staff and management., I feel my mother is in very good hands here. Quality loving care in a clean place that feels like home is what you will find here!

I admitted my mother at Bon Secours last April. We decided to admit her on this facility because it had bed availability. I felt that she would get good care there. They were clean. The staff seemed very accommodating. They offered all of the things that would make her comfortable and safe. The place is easy to get to.

I had my father stay at Bon Secours Place because the nurse-patient ratio was manageable. The facility looks marvelous. The staff were very accommodating even if my father doesn't speak English. They were knowledgeable to any questions that I asked. My father shared a room with another gentleman. It was a good size for a standard room, with individual sinks and faucets. The food is very good, even I say so myself. He had a special bland diet, and it was no problem to the facility. My father is happier at the facility. I would recommend this facility to others.

Tucked away in the unlikely of places, on the busy streets of St Pete is a Diamond in the rough called Bon Secours. Once you enter this large scale ALF, home to about 100 residents, you notice that it looks like you are in the lobby of a older hotel. A woman sits at a desk and monitors the traffic that comes in and out of the building. There were a couple of residents on the porch enjoying the great weather of Florida. I think that is a good sign, because to me that says they enjoy where they are. I did not see a dinning area, but the tray that I saw had a great presentation. In my opinion, the lighting could have been a little better as I felt as if the lobby seemed a little dark. The room that I saw seemed like a little apartment. It was equipped with a small kitchenette. The appliances were newer and up to date. I did not see one staff member besides the woman at the front desk and that kind of concerned me. In addition to that, I had a hard time finding a place to park.

I noticed that there was ample parking and the outside was very well cared for and maintained. Inside the facility was very spacious and had a beautiful staircase. The resident rooms were one bedroom with private bath and kitchenette. The facility does offer three nutritious meals in a small dinning room. Each resident room has emergency call systems and small sitting area for visitation. The facility offers a licensed practical nurse and several nursing assistants to assist the residents with their personal care such as bathing, etc. The three things I did not care for were: 1. There was a strong odor which was displeasing to my nose. 2. Not enough staff for the amount of residents. 3. Resident rooms and sitting areas fairly small.
