This place was terrible. It should be closed down. Food was terrible, the nurses were awful and the CNAs were a joke. The two good things were The therapy and the wound care.

My dad stayed at Bayside Health and Rehabilitation Center. It's rundown. The bathrooms are awful. There are roaches and bugs. I didn't get one bit of my dad's clothing back. He came on with somebody else's clothing. All his clothes were gone. His TV, phone, and call buttons didn't work. The staff members were very friendly and attentive. They answered the calls when they got them. They had people hunt my dad down for therapy sessions. They didn't have activities like bingo or arts and crafts. My dad said the food was acceptable. He's lactose intolerant. I talked to the head of the dietary, and she was super sweet. They did everything to make sure that he got the protein that he needed and that he didn't get dairy products. They were good at that. They had pretty good food. It's a really old building. They need to replace a lot of stuff.

I will only write about one issue. Our relative is blind and cannot read enough to dial their telephone. The minimal contact with anyone outside of Bayside is through their phone as most live out of the state. Phone calls for over two years have been difficult. I'd say out of 20 calls, maybe we can get through once over a few weeks. We have been told the phone does not work: Or that the wall box for the phone is broken by the bed and the adjoining bed: Or that the phone was unplugged. Since this is not news to the staff (our calls to look into it is just renewed again. Hoping for it to be resolved). This post is from trying to reach someone to look into the phone situation. Is it impossible for someone to check the phone and line connection daily as part of the patient care plan ? Can someone make a call for out, once a day from the paid-for phone in the room? This is for any patient that may have the same issues, not just this one. At times, we have been asking the staff if they will take a phone to our relative. This has been brought up to the nursing staff and supervisor already.

I liked Bayside Health and Rehabilitation Center. The staff was great. Everybody there was super helpful and had plenty of time to spend with us. They answered all our questions. I met a lot of people who had relatives there, and they had a positive experience. With what I saw there, I was happy, and I thought my mom would be comfortable there. It was conveniently located. It was not too far away from the house that we were going to be in. So I would be able to visit her as much as I wanted to. The food seemed really good. The important thing was, my mom was on special diet, and they said they could meet her needs. I knew that they do a lot of exercise activities, movie watching, different kinds of get together, and probably bingo too. I knew they sometimes took them out on excursions as well. Everything seemed great.

I am very pleased with the services that we are getting for my wife at Bayside Manor. The staff is well-trained and very compassionate. They have a very extensive activities department with five to six people who work in it, and they have activities in the morning and in the afternoon for seven days a week. There are two floors, so there are two dining rooms, and there are activities in each dining room twice a day at 10 AM and usually 2 PM. They've done anything from church services to Bible studies, bingo, and a lot of other stuff. I eat there regularly -- five days a week -- and the food is excellent. The place is very well-kept. They have a maintenance department that does nothing but maintenance.

My aunt is a resident at Bayside Manor. I visit on a daily basis and the facility is clean and there has never been a foul odor of any kind. There is a great outdoor area for the residents to sit in. The staff is friendly, for the most part. There are two dogs at the facility Monday -Friday during the day, the residents really enjoy interacting with them.

STAY AWAY!! Aunt sedated and left unattended in wheelchair. A/C in room broken, Leak in bathroom sink with trash can sitting on towel in floor to catch leaking water. Only light in her room was borken so complete darkness after sun goes down. Crank beds so she was unable to adjust her head as she wanted. had to call for nurse and then wait for them to come in and raise head of bed. No tv, no clock in room.

My wife is on the waiting list in Bayside Manor. The place seemed to be very clean and well-maintained. It was a bright sunshiny place, it has sunrooms on both sides of the building. The staff seemed to be more genuinely concerned and hands down better than the other places that I've visited. The place was a beehive of activities. They had three staff to facilitate activities to entertain the residents and they have a beautiful dog for the pet therapy. The other facilities that I've visited didn't come close to Bayside Manor.
