After an accident I spent 4 weeks at St. Andrews Bay. In general the staff were excellent, compassionate and patient. The staff ratio on evenings could be better. The meals were excellent, variety, good portion and plenty of opportunity for mid-meal snacks and drinks. The Therapy department was stellar with Dr. Josh and his team, I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and consideration they showed not only me, but others- especially those with dementia. The building is adequate, tv;s in rooms- could do with headsets for individual listening. The facility could do with upgrading. For long term residents, and temporary, there is plenty of activities daily. An excellent lounge is available where family members could dine fairly privately with loved ones- as I did with my family.. A hair Salon is conveniently located. At the time I arrived a change of staff running the facility had taken place and I saw many positive changes taking place already. I think rating St. Andrews as a 2 is unfair, I would give it a 4.5 with anticipation of it becoming a leader. I plan to return for my next surgery rehab.

St Andrews Bay is dirty. Stepdad had been in there not too long ago, and it’s awful.
It smells. I think there’s a lot of memory-ill people there and walking around. I think people are getting money from the government, and it looks like they have it open.
The staff was too busy. It was a shared room, and he hated it there. My mom was there years ago, and she hated it there too.

St Andrews Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was very nice. My mother-in-law has had a friend who has been there over the years, and she liked it when they were there. She has visited quite a few people from her church and friends there, and she was impressed by the place. I ended up speaking with the director, and he was very nice and very helpful. It was around Halloween so the staff was dressed up that day, and they all looked cute. It was very clean, and it looked fresh and bright.
They serve meals. They have room care services available if needed. They would have activities where people get together and do things. They have speech, physical, and occupational therapies.

St. Andrews Bay Skilled Nursing was definitely a nicer-looking facility and more updated, but there wasn't as much activity going on as far as keeping residents occupied. The only drawback that I had was that most of their residents were a lot older than my mother and I wanted to make sure she could be with people of her own age range. It also seemed more suitable for long-term care and at this point, I wasn't sure exactly how long she was going to be there.
