Village On The Isle, situated on a beautiful 16-acre campus on the island of Venice, is one of the first continuing care retirement communities (Life Plan Community) on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I like that Village On The Isle is a buy-in retirement home, where you just go from one level to another level. If you ran out of money, they don't kick you out, which is a nice feature. The people there were very helpful. The food was excellent. It seemed like the residents were all happy. I didn't see anybody that was unhappy. A couple of people on my block have moved in that area, and they've all been satisfied with the place. I had lunch there twice. They have top chef. It's gourmet. They have the independent living, assisted living, and memory care. They're all within the same property, so it's easy to convert from one level to another level.

Village on the Isle is beautiful and very nice. The staff member who showed us around was very good and did a great job. They have many activities like bingo, cards, a swimming pool, gym, and exercises.

Village on the Isle had two independent living buildings. The original building was about 34 years old but they are remodeling it floor by floor. It had decent-sized apartments. The newer building had central heating. We had a very good lunch there. They had a chef and staff that served the tables. We met a number of residents who all seemed very happy. They're situated on 60 acres of land right in the heart of Venice. They had a small library and a bus that would take the residents to the theaters and shopping.

Village on the Isle had two buildings for independent living: a high rise with smaller rooms and a smaller, 4-story building with bigger rooms apart from the other facilities. You have to walk to get to the common rooms, like the exercise rooms, restaurant, and other activity rooms. It’s the location that appealed to us. It had little traffic, and it’s a nice place for walking and biking. The staff was very pleasant, asked just the right questions, and showed us around the facilities. They have a bus that will take you shopping, to doctors' visits, and trips to entertainment in nearby towns.

Village on the Isle is very nice. It is very well-run. It is an older place but still a very nice one. We had a meal there and the food was very good. Their staff was very nice. The tour was very good.

Village on the Isle is a pleasant retirement and assisted living community. My grandparents lived in the same place for over 50 years and were reluctant to make the move into Village on the Isle. Once settled in, however, they have found a vibrant community and the assistance they need in their advanced age. They appreciate the meals and amenities available. They were able to hire outside nursing staff when my grandmother fell ill and needed extra care; they had no trouble coordinating this with the facility. When I went and visited Village on the Isle, I was impressed by quality of the food they prepare. Village on the Isle hires professional wait staff to serve the food, and the food itself is delicious. There are also activity buses that run from Village on the Isle to different points of interest. It's easy for my grandparents to remain well-groomed and engaged while getting the care they require. Overall, Village on the Isle is a great living community. It's not far from downtown Venice or from the beach, accommodates visitors well, and is a friendly and safe environment.
