About This Community

At Arbor Terrace, we believe in embracing life in every way. Our activities, from entertainment to wellness programs, are specifically designed for active senior minds, bodies and spirits. You go at your own pace, doing as much or as little as you wish or are able, with well-trained staff ready to assist.

From the dining to the activities to the spirit of hometown service, Arbor Terrace is designed for the best in living. In fact, "Assisted Living" is too limited a term for what Arbor Terrace is all about. It goes beyond a menu of capabilities: it is our whole community's philosophy, for neighbors and staff alike. Newcomers join a family that helps one another in every possible way.

There are times you feel like curling up in your favorite chair and paging through a good book or visiting with neighbors. There are times when you feel like swapping fishing stories, or shuffling cards for a game of bridge. This is the lifestyle at Arbor Terrace: Rich with comforts in the finest Southern tradition, yet down-home and easy-going.

My husband moved into Ortega Gardens Alzheimer's Special Care Center and it is a beautiful place. It's got short hallways that lead to the community living area and the hallways are bright, well-lit, and cheerful. It's extremely clean and just very attractive. The staff is all friendly, welcoming, and caring. They know the family as well as the residents. They're well-trained, cheerful, and seem to be happy working there. Their activities are well-planned according to the resident's ability to participate. I went to their support group last Wednesday night and their chef served us dinner. It was chicken parmesan and it was wonderful.

My wife is at Ortega Gardens Alzheimer's Special Care Center. It's less than 10 years old. It's very clean, the people are very friendly, and the food is good according to my wife. She is unable to participate in activities, and the only thing I've seen so far is them watching TV in their dining hall area. They have a beauty shop where a beautician comes in once a week and another lady who does the manicures comes in once a week too. It's nice. Her room is big and clean. One time, it used to be a two-bedroom unit, but since COVID came along, they have just individual people per room. The staff is very good. It's expensive, but of course, anything is.

Ortega Gardens is the third facility I have moved my Mom to. She has dementia and this facility is heads and shoulders above the others . Many facilities say they can handle dementia but they really don't train their staff to know how to handle the behaviors that come with the disease. Ortega Gardens staff does a wonderful job with the residents and I definitely would highly recommend them to a family looking for a place for your loved one.

My father is in here. It is wonderful, very friendly, and very open. The food looked very good and nutritious. They all have special diets. My father's biggest complaint is the salt and pepper, but he is really on a sodium-restricted diet. They have desserts or little snacks after supper. The staff is very friendly, and they listen to questions and answer them within their abilities. They have a whole calendar of activities and a lot can include the family. My father seems to enjoy the ones he partakes in.
