My mother never wanted to go to a nursing home. After a previous stroke, she went to a different facility and was absolutely miserable. After this stroke, she said that she was happy here and wanted to stay.
That made me happy that she was being well taken care of and more importantly, happy that she was there.
She really enjoys the socialization, dancing, and activities that they do.
Keep up the great job, guys.

This faculty is great.. I was there for a few months for rehabilitation.. Everything from the staff, the care, the physical therapists, the cleanliness, the food etc was fantastic... There is no way anyone can say a negative thing about this faculty.. I only wish I could go back and visit the people who took care of me but cause of Covid lockdown I can't unless it changed. I was discharged in middle of October... Thank you to all the staff

I was discharged from SPines for the 2nd time earlier this wk. The rooms for 2 patients are a bit cramped with walkers and/or wheelchairs in the way often. Other than that, I found that the meals were dull and often tasteless. I freely chose SP for a 2nd time because of the staff at all levels. They demonstrated clinical and personal skills one doesn't see often -- they were readily accessible and had senses of humor which truly made the time go by. One of my CNA's in particular, Maria (do not know surname), stood out as exceptional, as did many others.

The room was always nice and clean when I came to see mine Mom. They always had enough staff on hand to take care of your love one at Southern Pines. They had a calendar on the board stating what activities would take place, bingo, cards, singing songs together and more.

My mother moved in October, and she is happy at Southern Pines. The room is huge, and she is in one of the suites. The staff is amazing. The only problem is I don't think they have enough staff, so the patients can't get their meds fast enough. The activities and amenities are fine. Everything is clean and nice looking. She likes the food.

Southern Pines Nursing Center was not as bright as a facility could be and their food was not as good, but I like their physical therapy service there. Their staff also was excellent and their physical therapists were so kind. When my husband moved in there, he was so weak and "crumpled up" that they had to use one of those equipments to pick him up and put him to bed. After two months being there and doing rehab, he walked out in a walker. They have the very best physical therapy that I've ever seen.

My father spent the last 2 years of his life in Southern Pines, so I had visited and dealt with the center many times. The caring and knowledge of the staff was good, and I felt like they liked and cared about my father. I did have to fight tooth and nail with the office staff to keep him in a room near the front, generally reserved for shorter termed patients. The long term section was not well cared for, smelled of urine, looked old and dirty, and had many patients with serious conditions such as dementia that caused them to scream and roam around a lot. My father had all his facilities, and was very saddened by the unexpected death of my mother. I felt that if he moved to the long term ward, it would have had a terrible impact on his health and well being. The floor staff agreed with me, and they didn't have any desire to work in that ward, let alone be a patient there. As a family, we were very dilligent with providing care for my father. He usually had my brother there every day. This allowed us to see that the nurses and assistants really interacted with the patients, and treated them kindly, which I felt was the most important aspect of my father's care. Food in the facility was good, and the staff were willing to meet my dad's needs for meals and snacks. I would recommend Southern Pines to other families in need of care.
