My mother has moved into Consulate Health Care. So far, so good. The staff is nice. However, they need to improve the laundry area because they seem to lose clothing easily. The staff members all seem to be pretty good. My mother's room is small. The lighting is bad too. They play bingo, they have church services, and they have some entertainment. The food service is good.

I went in after having knee replacement surgery. I would have to beg for my pain meds. It took 2 days to get my heart and blood pressure meds. If it had not been for one wonderful nurse Jessica I would not have gotten them then. Please don't put your love ones here. The night I left it took over 4 hours to get my pain meds.

The staff was very friendly, and the people seemed to be happy, reasonably so. The place was clean. My husband was only in Consulate Health Care of Lakeland for four nights. His room had two beds, a closet, a bathroom, and a dresser.

At first, when visiting my grandfather in the facility, it was very quaint. The decor, the activities offered and even the staff seemed generally appealing and showed a natural concern for their patients. My grandfather stayed there for about two years, and it was very rare for any problems to arise, except for Medicare or health issues that came up. Closer to the end of his stay, and the reason why we decided to relocate him was because he seemed more and more unhappy. The decor and activities stayed the same, but the overwhelming smell of urine crept down the halls. It also came to our attention that bedsores were appearing, and the nurses were rude and unconcerned of his conditions that we rose. Eventually, even the office attendees were difficult with paperwork which was kept up as much as possible, it just seemed they were never satisfied with the 3800 dollars a month they received! That, I could deal with. It's just people doing their jobs, but how my grandfather seemed to be treated, the bedsores, and urine smell was unacceptable. So, we relocated him and although he has dementia, is basically immobile, and cannot communicate with us, he appears happy where he is now then this facility whom seemed more interested in the appearance than their patients!
