Guy
My brother-in-law and his wife moved into Arbor Hills Independent Living. It's very nice. There's not a whole lot of guys, it's mostly women. They get their meals. If they need to go somewhere, if they don't have a ride, they have a shuttle to take them anywhere; either to doctor appointments, to the mall, shopping, and stuff like that. They have a little barbershop and an ice cream shop there. It's a nice little setup, though. The building itself is only five years old, and the apartments are very nice.
I know the guy that works there, he'll do anything they ask. So, it's pretty nice. If they don't know how to connect the cable or whatever, he'll come in and help connect it. If you need to add shelves to a closet, he'll come in and change it; It's pretty nice.
They have a lot of take-home; what they don't eat there, they can put it in a container, and put it in the fridge in their apartment. So, you open up their door, and it's like all tons of desserts because you get the dessert, plus the meal. They say it's really good, I've never eaten there.
What I can tell is their staff is nice. They're very friendly, and they go out beyond there if you need anything. They're always asking who you're going to, sign in, sign out, and stuff like that. So, security is really good. Parking is plentiful. The only thing they don't have is a pool, which is odd, but that's the only downfall.
When my brother-in-law moved over, he had a pool table, so he gave them their pool table. So now, they have a pool room. They have a card room and craft. I think there's somebody that comes in and does their exercise and stuff. What was crazy was, my sister-in-law had to go see a physical therapist, but the physical therapist was there in the building, so that was kind of nice. What I can tell, it's pretty nice; every time I go in there, it smells brand new and it's already five years old. It's crazy.

I'm currently at Arbor Hills. It's boring. The staff is nice. The place is very nice looking, but my room is small. You just sit, and you look out the window. It's modern. If a person is quiet and likes to be alone, this is the place.

My friend has lived at The Hills for a couple of years now and absolutely loves it there. The staff is always welcoming and very helpful. The food is terrific!! She also gets courtesy transport to and from all her doctor appointments. I've met some of the other residents and everyone is just so nice. The annual Grand Luau and other seasonal parties are beyond words. I will be joining my friend with my own apt at The Hills in a few months, and can't wait to enjoy the good life!!

Our first choice would be the Arbor Hills -- which is only a year old -- and we were very impressed with that. The apartments were very nice, they were big, and we could get along with a one-bedroom apartment very easily. There was a place for a washer and dryer in the apartment, which was a really good thing. The décor, being new, was light colors, and they had a’50s place where they had ice-cream socials at night. The outside area had an outside screened porch, which was very nice. We just felt comfortable there. I don’t think they have their big activities list up yet, but they’re trying to get the residents’ feedback to offer some good things for people.

Arbor Hills's apartment were beautiful. Everything was brand new and clean there. They had an activities room, an exercise room, and a beautiful dining room. It’s owned by the same people who own Arbor Oaks, except that it’s totally independent. They had studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms, but all we looked at was a studio. I talked to a lady who just moved in, and she said the food was good. They had it very nicely decorated and very elegant and modern on the inside. I don’t think they have that many residents yet because it just opened up.

Everyone at Arbor Hills was friendly, knowledgeable, caring, professional, courteous, positive, and outgoing. The dining room was elegant, and the food was average, but you get three meals a day. I wish they had a pool. Everything was inclusive.

Arbor Hills Independent Living was nice. They had a small library and a small gym with a treadmill. The dining area was nice; we ate there, and the food was really good, especially the salad bar. They don't have too many outside activities. They had ice cream socials, crafts, and things like that.

Arbor Hills was fairly new, very nice, and very well kept. The only downside is that the people there did not seem active. They didn’t have the same quantity of activities as the other facility we visited. The dining area looked attractive. The outside was very pretty, but still, the people did not seem active, and they didn’t have enough activities.
