The Meridian at Westwood seemed to be a nice and open community. Everybody was friendly. The staff was friendly. The rooms are small, but they are renovating a couple of them to be a little larger. They showed us the dining hall and where everything was prepared. They showed us the amenities, like the swimming pools, which are always a nice touch when you get older. The variety of things to do seemed adequate. The facility was a little older, but it was okay. They had like one pool table, some exercise machines, and various things that didn't seem to get much use.

I went to look at The Meridian at Westwood. The facility is clean. I saw a studio and a one-bedroom. They were clean. I think for this area, the price wasn't bad. They have a library and a gym. They have a little get-together. The facility was just a little dated. The staff was very, very friendly and excellent.

Meridian at Westwood is great. Everyone's really friendly. You're made to feel at home. It's just a really nice atmosphere. They have bingo and we had a dance for New Year's Eve. They have a bus that takes you on certain days to the grocery store, or other things that you need to go to. They have cars available, and I think they go to Walmart on certain days. They help you out that way or any other needs.
The rooms are spacious and really nice. The maintenance is great. They're just right on it, even the TV, the little things, the sink, and whatever. Those were the few things that happened to me, and I think the maintenance is really great here. With the food, some days are better than others, but that's going to happen no matter where you are. I guess, it's according to the cook that day, but basically it's pretty good. The staff is friendly. They want to make sure that everything is right with the person, if can they help. They're very nice here.
They try real hard. I haven't even looked at another place to start with. I'm going by just strictly this place. I've never even looked into someplace else. They have a lot of activities. They try to keep you busy. I know that they have bingo at certain times. They have puzzles you can put together, and they play dominoes and different card games. They have a lot of things in the Magnolia Room, and that's where we had our dance on New Year's Eve.

I am a resident of Meridian at Westwood, and I've been here a month. I came for a retreat for two days and two nights. I came with a friend, and I had no intentions of staying here. My friend said she would come to the retreat if I would come with her, and I did.
I just fell in love with the people and the two girls who helped us, Aisha and Lana. When my daughter came to pick me up that Saturday, I cried; I did not want to leave. I was in this big house by myself. The next week, I came and signed the papers. I called the movers, and the next week I was over here. I absolutely love it. The staff are everyone's family now. I know everyone by first name, and I just love it. I'm not alone, I smile, and it's just been a wonderful experience.
I'm glad to give my review, because I'm just really, really happy here. I have been here a month. I moved in and it was not a difficult change at all. I'm just happy here, I'm smiling, and everyone's family. It's just the way I want things to be. I do not want to be at home alone, and I already have made good friends. The friend I came with moved in late yesterday afternoon. I was here a month before she ever decided to move, but she's here now.
It's difficult now because of the shortage of people. Rather than having the food served, it's buffet style, and the residents are not happy with the food. We are praying that it's going to change. I've had people come up and tell me that they came here because it's supposed to be fine dining and they serve you. Most of these people -- but not me -- have walkers, and it's difficult for them to go in and serve themselves a plate with a walker. But it's a different time now, and the they can't get servers or people to work. Hopefully that's going to change, but I'm not complaining -- other people are. The staff go above and beyond in their duties. The marketing people, the executive director, and everyone serving food are just remarkable. They work and work and work, and I admire them -- I really do.
I do wish they had something at night. Usually after the dinner hour at 6:30 p.m., people go up to their apartments and there's no activity at nighttime. I know that the activity directors only work so many hours, and they have to go home. They can't provide activity at night, but I just don't like to go back to my apartment and not have anything to do.
I'm happy to be here, I love the staff and the residents, I've started to make good friends, and we just feel like a family.

I toured The Meridian at Westwood for my mom. They were all very nice but it was just a lot of money for a little bitty something smaller than a walk-in closet almost. The atrium, the inside itself was nice, but the rooms were very old and not updated at all. They had all sorts of stuff from movies to bridge. It was nice. It's just $3000 a month, which is a lot of money. The neighborhood was fine but it's a much older complex.

The staff at Meridian at Westwood was excellent. The building has a little bit of age on it, but it's well maintained. It looks like a luxury hotel, and the pricing is reasonable. Their one-bedroom apartment was the largest one-bedroom apartment that I've looked at. That was the nicest place I've looked at so far. I liked their menu. They have a very flexible menu, and there's no extra charge for a diabetic menu.

My mother is a resident at Westwood. After her recent stay in the hospital I stayed onsite in a guest apt. The entire staff was helpful and accommodating as my mother adjusted to her apt. The food is great with a surprisingly nice selection on the menu and with backups always available. Additionally the support staff was extremely helpful in arranging transportation to all her follow up doctors visits. I feel relieved that Mom is in a nice place with caring competent people.

The staff at the Meridian is what makes it stand out, these folks genuinely care about the residents. The fact that everyone is so nice and treats my mother with friendliness and care makes me feel happy we found this place for mom.

The Meridian is a great place for a parent/loved one to move that is still independent, but may need a little extra help every now and then. There are many activities for the residents to choose from.
Daily games, bus rides to outside activities, movies, social hour and even exercise class!
All this is optional. The residents choose what they would like to do. If they prefer, they can sit in the beautiful atrium or by the pool and visit.
My mothers one bedroom apartment is very nice. We decorated and arranged her furniture as it was in her own home to make her feel more at home at the Meridian.
During the holidays, the Meridian is decorated for the current event and activities are created surrounding the holiday and even special guest are brought in to help celebrate.
The Meridian gives us peace of mind knowing our mom is not sitting at home by herself waiting for someone to come by or even worse, she has a health emergency and cannot get help. We like our mother has interaction with others. Not only the residents, but the friendly staff who are always willing to help when they can.
I want to personally thank the staff for helping my mom each time she asked or just to stop and have a chat. Which at times can make a residents day.
Thank you!

We went in for a tour like over a year ago at the Meridian. It was the independent at the time when we took the tour. My parents were in a better spot, so we took the independent tour but they also talked to us about the assisted. It was good, actually my parents even put down a deposit. We're gonna go there, and then they just changed their minds and said they'll stay home a little while longer. I didn't have any interaction with the staff other than the marketing and sales person that shows us around and she was very helpful. The rooms were fairly nice. They seem very small though and the hardest part is for a parent to go from a home to this area that aren't big for a living room.

I arrived at The Meridian about 3 years ago and was very happy with my decision to live here after looking at three other places. The Meridian surpassed them all. My apartment has everything I need. Bedroom, Bathroom, kitchen, dining, and plenty of storage space. Whats even more special is the atrium in the middle. I have a putting green right outside my door. Fit Classes, Bowling, Bingo, game tables and more. They always have entertainment and lots of activities. They have delicious food. They delivered them right to our door during the pandemic. They have Assisted living and memory care too. I highly recommend my community. You couldn't find a better place.

This place is amasing. The staff is super friendly, location is great, and the food is the best I have had in a facility.

The staff at Meridian has been so helpful, from the initial visit through move-in and getting settled. They are making the "Covid" challenges more bearable. They continue to check on our uncle daily to be sure his needs are taken care of properly, including his diabetic diet needs, and they keep the family informed of anything requiring attention. All the staff is extremely friendly and they are taking all precautions during "Covid" to keep the residents safe.

The Meridian at Westwood is home for our Mother. In the 4 plus years she has been there she has made many friends. The staff is friendly, caring and always goes out of their way to ensure they meet every need of their residents...from serving three delicious meals each day, cleaning their apartments, planning events, and ensuring each resident is happy, healthy and satisfied. The apartments are very spacious and beautiful and provide all the amenities needed to live comfortably and safely! The staff fosters a family environment, and they truly care about every resident personally! The Meridian at Westwood is an awesome place to live!! We are so happy that it is the place our Mother calls home!

I visited the Meridian at Westwood independent living community with my dad and sister. We were all impressed with the quality and feel of the place. There is a large airy atrium with lots of live plants and places for the residents to socialize, take exercise classes, or participate in activities.
The hallways of the building look out over this open space which is really pleasant. We toured a couple of apartments. They were spacious and had recently been renovated with very nice kitchenettes and baths.
We were impressed by all of the offerings in the community and that the residents are involved in decision-making through an elected board. There was a library, a chapel, an outdoor pool with deck, a movie theater with free popcorn and cookies, an area to walk dogs, and restaurant-style dining.
We had lunch and enjoyed our meal thoroughly. Each of the residents we spoke to had good things to say about the Meridian. We also saw several grandkids visiting was fun and learned visitors can stay in guest lodgings on-site.
I hope my dad will consider joining this community in the future.

Everything was exceptionally nice. The decorations and food were delicious and everything was so professionally done! Staff very friendly. I was impressed.

We like The Meridian at Westwood. It is where we are going to be putting my mom. They have quite a few residents. There are lots of activities. They also have independent living, which is what my mom requires, but when she goes to dependent care, she can stay at the same place. Basically, that's what we like the most about it. The apartments are nice. They're perfect for an 84-year-old lady. They have a library, church services, a putting green, and all kinds of tables where they can sit around and play cards. They even have a pool, and you can go in there and swim. There's quite a bit of activities. They also do different events. My mom can do her own laundry, which she likes to do. They have a buffet breakfast, and then the lunch and dinner are a la carte, so they get to order from a menu. You can go down and get coffee anytime you want. If my mom decides to skip a meal, she can always go down and have snacks. Plus, she will be in a room with a refrigerator and a microwave. It is also a very clean place.

The Meridian at Westwood was very nice, neat, clean and updated. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, garbage disposal, and a very nice, full bedroom that's very light and airy. They had a swimming pool, a bistro where you can go and have coffee anytime, a library with computers, a putting green and a theater. The staff was very caring and while we were waiting, they brought our freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The people there would say, "hi, how are you," so everybody was very friendly. They're redoing a lot of it so it's very new and modern-looking.

Everyone is so welcoming at this facility- The staff and residents overfilled us with joy when we went to look and took a tour! Everyone was oh so very helpful and answered all our questions we had. I have been looking for a place for my family member and out of all the communities we have visited along the Emerald Coast, the Meridian at Westwood tops them all! Would recommend anyone's family member to move here! We have already made our decision & so should you!

Meridian was several stories high, and they do a lot of walking and offered exercise every week. I know a number of couples that live there. The staff was very nice. The head chef us toured around because it was a Saturday, and maybe the lady who usually is there was not there on Saturday. They had card games, and they have shuttle buses.

The Meridian was a much larger complex. It had more levels of care available. There was independent living, assisted living, and then a more of a nursing home type set-up. It was more like a high rise. I thought the rooms were nicer and possibly a little better maintained. We actually had food there; it was pretty good, and that was important for my mom. The man who ran their food services took us for a tour and treated us for lunch. He was very kind and did a really good job.

The Meridian at Westwood was OK. It was an older building, which looked nice, and it was very big to include independent living and then ALF. They had a progressive ground floor, and they were remodeling the whole building. It will probably be a nice place to live. They were decent apartments; they were just too expensive for us. They were having cocktail hour when we were there.

The tour at The Meridian was nice, but it should be coordinated. They invited us for lunch, and we went there, but the tour guide indicated that they were finishing lunch and didn’t even invite us or mention lunch. I thought the place was really good, and it would be the place I would choose when I’m ready to choose a place. It was nicely setup, had a variety of things for people to do, and had friendly people. The rooms appeared to be fine; we saw one fixed up for the next people, and it was of decent size.

The Meridian at Westwood was very good, and the tour was very satisfying. The staff was very knowledgeable and seemed to be able to answer all of our questions without any problems. They had a library, a therapy room, a big area where people could eat, and a hairdresser. They had all kinds of activities listed that they could be part of as well as trips to go shopping or something like that. The lady that walked us around was more than helpful in showing us all of the social activities and recreations for the seniors. They had 24-hour staffing and always had a nurse on call.

It was laid out well. I just liked the layout; I liked the dining room, the activities, and the ability to get transported to things outside of the unit to do shopping, little excursions, and stuff like that. They have a pool and do pool exercises, table top bowling, exercises, Bible studies, and church and religion each Sunday. They check the rooms every 24 hours and have call chains and security. They have a lot of common areas for people to sit, an atrium, and social hours on Fridays. It just seemed homey. My mother lived there for four years before she passed, and she loved it there.

We visited The Meridian. The staff was very pleasant. The dining room looked nice. It is more of a high-rise type than the other facility we saw. They have an outside pool and a heated pool. The atmosphere was very pleasant and very nice. The residents were very nice and friendly and seemed to be happy and pleased. They were like, "Come see our room," but we didn’t have time available to do that. The room that we were taken and shown was a display room and was very nice.

The Meridian at Westwood was excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to live there. I’m very impressed with it and the people that worked there. The room was a bedroom, a sitting area, and a small kitchen. It was nice and very clean. The facility had a library. They have regularly scheduled activities for the people that live there and shuttle service. It was a very nice place, and the people seemed very happy. They have independent living, assisted living, and sort of like a nursing home. I was looking for independent living for my brother.

The Meridian at Westwood was awesome, but we could not afford it. It was a beautiful place. The staff was great, very friendly, interactive with people, and good. If I had the money, I would go there. It was top-notch.

It was awesome. I would rate it as top-notch. They have housekeeping once a week, two meals a day, activities and socials, they provide transportation, and they do outings to different restaurants. They have assigned parking for residents that can drive. They have security guards that monitors who comes and goes. The room was perfect. My mom was in a 1-bedroom, with one bath and a living room. It was lovely, and it came with a little kitchen that had a stove and refrigerator. It's very clean. They keep it updated, and they vacuum it every day.

It is larger and had more people and activities. My mom seemed happy when we visited the place so I decided to give it a try. They had very nice and caring staff. They got a lot of activities but my mother does bridge, and she works on puzzles. She also goes to physical therapy that is available on the premises.

I like this community because there's always something going on. The rooms are of various sizes and even though I live in a studio apartment I have more than I need. The staff are very helpful. It's the best one I've looked at.
