We explored Village Place Retirement. It is out of our price range, but other than that, it is a nice place. The staff member was great. She was very personable. She was really good, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was very well kept up with. The rooms were very nice and very adequate for what a person would need. All the staff was very friendly. I really don't see where they have much room for improvement. They have all kinds of activities. When we first went there they quoted one thing, but when we went back their price increased by $400 a month, and that's out of our realm of what we can do.

My mother has moved into Village Place. I like that it is divided into smaller sections. They offer all kinds of activities. They have a mystery bus ride, bingo, and trivia. They offer three meals a day. They take care of the medications, they have wound care, and they wash the clothes. The staff is excellent. The rooms are a nice size.

Placed my mother here. Everyone was great for two weeks, they delivered on their sales pitch. Beware: there are no Nutritious meals, more like prison food! For supper they brought my mother a bowl of Swedish meatballs. 9 meatballs in a bowl of gravy. No appetizer, no bread, no vegetables, ahh....but for desert a bowl of fruit cocktail. To drink there was watered down orange juice or cranberry juice or water!! I tasted it, it was watered down 50/50. Some residents chose a half of waffle & 3 link sausages. Shame on Holiday Resorts!! These residents pay on the average of $4100 a month to stay here. These corporate entities should stand by the promises they make when families choose to place their loved one in their care!! Yes, I'm looking else where for a better place for my mother.

Village Place Retirement was very congested. There were a lot of residents just sitting around and there was nothing going on. The rooms were good. They had a dining area on each floor, which was good. They had a salon and a library.

We visited Village Place Retirement. The apartment seemed small. It had one bedroom and a sitting area, which was fine for assisted living. The residents seemed happy.

Village Place was fine and average. I didn’t meet much of the staff, but everybody was pleasant. They didn’t have any openings, so that limited my discussion with them. There was nothing about it that I disliked. They had a little more space, but it wasn’t really walking around space. The rooms were fine, and the layout was nice.

The Village was nice, and everything was good, but I didn't like the cleanliness and the pricing. They had three meals a day. I liked the friendliness of the staff and that there were a lot of residents.

Village Place is a nice facility, the staff is very helpful in answering questions, but there is no parking. It’s surrounded by trees and it’s very dark and foreboding. The rooms were average and not spectacular

We visited Village Place for my mother. Dining was in a family-like setting, which was very nice. However, I didn’t like the idea that there was not enough parking out front. Also, it was very noisy. However, they were very good about having the chef and the nurse come out and talk with us. They had puzzles and bingo, too.

My mother moved into Village Place two weeks ago. The room is large and the place is very well maintained. The people are very nice, both the staff and the residents as well. They are very well staffed. We had lunch there and my mother has been happy with the food so far. Typically, it is a little bland, but that is not uncommon with that type of facility. They have a lot of daily activities. They play cards, socials, church services and everything that mom needs. The neighborhood is very nice. They take them to banks and shopping day. They also have days to go to the doctors.

The staff at Village Place all seemed very friendly, and caring. The place was clean, and the way it was setup was not like a big facility where everybody was just lumped in like a huge dining room for dining room for dinner. It was set up in little neighborhoods, and it’s very small and personal in the respective areas. They said the food is good. I met the chef, and he seemed very knowledgeable, and very caring with what he was serving. My dad said it’s not the Ritz Carlton, but it’s good. My dad went to live there in the last week of December. He’s got a roommate, but each have a separate bedroom, a little kitchenette, a bathroom, and a little den.

Village Place is a little bit different than some of them. It’s setup in what they called a neighborhood. It’s a hallway or wing that has 10 rooms on it, and each of the neighborhoods have their own private dining room and private care. It’s very nice. The facility is of good size, but it's not a huge place. My mother is happy there. They can add probably one more additional help in each neighborhood.

I visited Village Place. My mom chose to live there, and she moved in last February. As opposed to having one whole dining room, I like the idea that they have like cluster dining rooms throughout the facility. She likes that too because you get to know a small group of people better. The staff there, as well as the people who managed the medicine is very friendly. They were very open to my mom and they were very in tuned with her. They were just very friendly and it was an open kind of place to visit. They do have a separate memory care wing which is nice. If mom should ever begin to need that extra attention, it is right there in the building, but it is a separate unit within the building. They are well maintained, and they had just place fresh carpeting in my mom's place. It is a very well maintained facility.

Everyone at Village Place is extremely nice. My mother said that everyone treats her very well. She said the food is fine, and that’s interesting because she is not interested in eating at all. She has been well taken care of. She went in initially to the assisted living, and we had to move her into the memory care.
Everybody has been wonderful about everything that has happened. It has been a good experience for me considering that I had to put my mom quite suddenly into a facility. That was very scary to me; however everything is well cared about. The grounds were well-kept. There are nice places outside for people to sit. Everyone that I worked with has been what they should be. The person that’s in charge of nursing is very busy, and the office staff has done their job really well.

The Village Place was very clean and well-organized. The staff was very professional. The patients seemed to be well-cared for just like any other place. The rooms were very nice, and they were spacious. I would feel comfortable in putting my sister there, but they do not have memory care. That is why I chose another facility.

All I hear are complaints on the food. Very repetitive with lots of pasta and sauce to cover up the entrees. The residents are given a menu to make there selections for each week. I would say 50% of the time a menu item selected is either not given, or a substitute is given. When asked where is the order requested they are told they have run out, or that is what the kitchen sent them. Staff generally is nice and helpful. I would recommend this facility but with reservations...

We actually put mom at Village Place Retirement because they had space available for her. It’s fine, but she is not very contented with the food so I think we are going to be looking for another facility. She feels like a lot of the meals are very repetitive, but the staff is very friendly.

Mom is at Village Place Retirement. This facility was chosen because it's close to where I am, and they seem to offer quite a lot of activities for her, and that is what she needed. On Fridays the residents are taken out to lunch, and on Wednesdays they have a bus ride. They also have a movie night. They just seem to keep her pretty busy. The staff are good. I really like that my mom is able to go outside every day. There is a place where she is allowed to go out on her own if she wants to that is secure, but she still feels like she is outside.

Everybody in The Village was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were set up nicely. They had basically the same activities like where my grandmother is.

I visited Village Place for my parents. Their staff was very helpful. It was also affordable for us. It was slightly different from the other facility I visited. In terms of what specifically they have, I think, it was for a different probably socio-economic group that could stay there.

I visit Village Place, an assisted living facility, on a weekly basis. When the weather is nice, I see residents outside the entrance enjoying the fresh air and feeding squirrels. The staff at the front desk are always friendly, and the common room has a homey, welcoming feel. Usually there is nostalgic music wafting in the common areas as I take the stairs up to the second floor. There is also an elevator that residents can take to get between floors. The room where I go to see my patient looks like a little apartment, with a kitchenette, small living room, and bedroom filled with personal items to really make it look like home. Today when I was there, I saw a bunch of residents in one of the common areas taking a painting class. There are mini common areas all over the place, filled with books, TVs and couches, or dining areas. Of course, there are nursing stations, too, but you have to be on the lookout for them, because they aren't easily spotted if you're just having a casual look. There is also an Alzheimer's unit here, with their own walled-in patio outside, but I don't have a chance to visit that unit. This is a place where I would feel comfortable having my own family members taken care of. For 6 years, my parents and I lived together and took care of my grandmother. The last six months she had to live in a nursing home and I hated visiting her there, even though it was the best we could find for her. It was more like a hospital. But I enjoy visiting this site every week, and even look forward to it, because it seems very vibrant and caring.
