I went to Bridgewater Park and met Danielle. She was very nice and helpful. The facility was just a little bigger. It was a two-story and they have a true apartment-like facility. So, it was too big for my parents. The rooms were very nice though and they probably have a little more activities and amenities. It was a little more upscale. The people were very friendly, very helpful, and knowledgeable.

Bridgewater Park is very expensive but it's great. Mom hates the food but then she hates everything so I don't know if the food's terrible; it's institutional food. The staff is great; they're really wonderful including the apartments. It's a new facility, she was in the largest 1-bedroom that overlooks the courtyard; it's wonderful. But it's pretty close to $6000 and she can't afford that anymore, it's very expensive. They have bingo, a hair salon, they can go to movies every night, they play bridge, they have a lot of activities. They would take them out to the symphony or the orchestra; so they attempt to make the residents active.

My dad is in the memory care side of Bridgewater Park. It had a brighter atmosphere. When you walked in the door it was so bright, and everything is centrally located, and the rooms are built around that which I really like. The staff is very good, courteous and I have nothing wrong to say about them. They're just fabulous. My dad has an enormous appetite and if he wants seconds, they give him that. He's doing fantastic there. They have movie nights, ice cream socials, and memory games. There's something going on all the time. They treat each person as an individual and get to know them and what works and doesn't work. They have a variety of different vegetables at night and they always make sure there's a dessert, so they're very accommodating. The cost is worth it knowing that he's getting the proper care and that he's adjusting so well.
