They don't answer phone when not convenient. Rooms are more like a hospital.

I am a resident of nearly 2 yrs. I am pleased with my care, the staff, food and activities. I AM NOT OK with my dog not being able to come in to visit. I was told it is because she is a VICIOUS breed. That is so wrong!!!!! I have had 4 and none have been a problem. Most people here have met DAISY. She just wants to love on everyone.

This place is absolutely horrible! STEER CLEAR! My mother stayed here for 1 1/2 weeks after surgery for rehabilitation. There were not enough exercise machines for the patients scheduled per time slot so they had to waste part of their precious 30 minute allotted rebab time waiting in line. Other than that 30 minutes, patients are left in their beds to rot. In 1 1/2 weeks, my mom only sat on a toilet once - when I demanded she receive a shower (only one given in the entire time). Her roommate had been in there for 3 weeks and had never been taken to the bathroom or shower. They are left to urinate and defecate in their beds. How humiliating and demeaning for the patients and their family! There never seemed to be a shortage of help, though. The problem is that they were always at the nurse's station all chatting with each other, not helping patients at all. The ONLY positive about this place were 2 great, wonderful nurses she was lucky enough to have - Alvin and Tina. Many thanks to you two!!!!!!!!

Rooms are adequate, food is fine,but.....our reason for being here is rehab & that is inadequate...unacceptable. Has been checked in on Tues. PM. On Wed. he walked him around the chair in his room (once) That was the end of therapy that day. Thurs.(Thanksgiving) no therapy. Fri. took patient to the gym in a wheelchair. Gave him a small rod to raise 16 times & said he'd be back. Quite a while later he returned & told to bend a small rod 16 times...& he'd be back. That was the therapy this patient has gotten thus far. VERY disappointing.

This facility’s administration/social work dept lacks depth of knowledge to appropriately transition patients to the home setting and providing patient with a continuity of services to ensure safety and medical needs, particularly for complex medical patients. This is a not a patient centered facility with focus on the patient. Administration does not demonstrate concern or care for the patient. Therapists, nurses, CNA, housekeeping are conscientious and I do applaud their services. Evidence of poor communication between facility depts due to poor mgmt and leadership at the facility. Facility in need of patient centered care Professional development for their Administrative staff.

Palm Garden was a very clean, nice facility, and it was nicely decorated. The rooms were plain, mom shared a room, and they only have a toilet, sink, and bathroom. They have no paintings on the wall, they had 2 TVs, and a clock in all the rooms. It’s kept really clean, the rehab side is all updated and new, but the long term side is a work in progress. They’re trying to get all the rooms redone. They have bingo, coffee and news every morning, and they have activities, like putting puzzles together, or a speaker would come in, and they also have movie day. There’s always something to keep them occupied. The staff is good. It's covered by insurance.

They changed my mother's medications, and would not even tell her what medications they were giving her when she directly asked them. They allowed my mother to have a heart attack. Once she called me and I arrived, I saw she did not look well. After I asked 5 times, and getting ready to call 911 myself, they finally called. Control patients by drugging them semi-unconscious.

I put my mother in Palm Garden. It’s very nice, and the people are very good. Their dining area is very nice, like going into a restaurant. I eat there with my mother every day and everything I’ve eaten is very good. I would recommend it to anyone. The staff people are very knowledgeable and very good with the patients. Mom gets confused, but that’s her dementia. Otherwise, she’s very comfortable there.

Palm Garden of Winter Haven is excellent. The people working there were very good. It was for my sister when she had rehab. The physical therapy was very good. They have a shared room, and it was adequate. It is bigger than a normal hospital room. They did a very good job because it did not smell, and it was very clean.
