My dad is now at AdventHealth Care Center Zephyrhills South. It's located at Zephyr Park, an outdoor park for the city. So, the view is beautiful from many rooms. The number of beds is less than the hundreds. They offer full long-term care and are affiliated with the area's best hospital. It's a skilled nursing facility and they have long-term care patients. The building is a one-level ranch style which is ideal for patients in wheelchairs and needing to be transported. No second floor and no elevators to get trapped in. The staff is very friendly and, I think, take great pride in their services. I have tried their food. Both of my parents had been in that facility, and they said the food was fine. The food was fair. My dad is not mobile, so they wheel him out and he does enjoy that. They all seem pretty involved and happy.

I would have gone to Zephyr Haven if I had to. The atmosphere was very dark and it would have been depressing for me honestly. I have a lot of trouble with my sinuses and when I visited this facility, I could smell mold. I couldn't see it anywhere, but I could smell it. Also their rooms weren't nearly as spacious as the other place. Regarding the staff though, they were very nice and very friendly. They answered all my questions.

My grandmother lived very happily in this nursing home. After she had a stroke, the hospital suggested this nursing home as one of the best in dealing with post-stroke rehabilitation. I always found the staff to be very kind and caring, the food was always delivered on time ( and tasted good!) and the facilities were always clean. My grandmother shared a room with another woman, but they also had private rooms, which cost more money. There always seemed to be some kind of games or events going on at this nursing home. Some nights were bingo and others they played cards. They had different lunches and dinners based on the holidays and they food was mostly in season. Probably one of the best aspects of this nursing home is its location- it sits right on lake Zephyr and it's a nice stroll around the lake, which can also accommodate a wheelchair. Overall I think this is a great place.
