Stratford Court of Boca Pointe was cold and dark. Moldings were dirty, and furniture was scratched. I didn't meet any staff. I only met one person who was showing me around. I didn't care for the apartments at all. The kitchen was very small. It wasn't an updated refrigerator. The bathrooms were tiny. I didn't like the layout. The common spaces were dark. The environment that I'm in dictate my moods, and it was very dark and miserable. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. All these old-dated rugs and hallways are not pleasant at all. Very low ceilings. It has been in existence for at least 30 years. That was the in-thing 30 years ago, traditional and warm colors, but now things have changed.

I visited Stratford Court of Boca Pointe. That place really is run down but the reidents don't think so. The floor plans are great and there's a ton of them, but the hallways and the commons areas, they have a lot of overhaul to do. And we didn't want to be a part of that. It's also a little too big, it's a lot of people, and the hallway is not that wide to accommodate everybody. The food was delicious and the activities were good. The place would have been fine, but it's under construction now. They put us up for the night, which was very nice. They have balconies, they're redoing them all, and when I woke up at 7:00 in the morning, it was filled with construction trucks. Over the next few years, they're going to be doing a lot of work.
We stayed there for the night and it was lovely. They put us into a two-bedroom. We're in Florida where it's very, very hot, and my father was wearing shorts. We couldn't go in the dining room because you have to wear pants, which is so stupid. They brought our dinner to our room, but I never heard of that before that in Florida you have to wear pants. Overall, it needs a lot of work and I wasn't happy, I just wasn't happy with the grounds, and the guy who took us around was so-so. Everybody else that worked there was wonderful. He took us around, he did his best, and he accommodated us very nicely, so I can't complain too much. But everybody that did the breakfast and the staff and everybody was very helpful, and my father loved the food.

I thought Stratford Court of Boca Pointe was very nice, except the smallest unit was barely what I could afford, with very little money left over for everyday expenses that I would have. I toured their independent living and what I liked most about it was their cleanliness. What I liked least was that I think the majority of the people that I saw there were much older than my age group. When we asked the young lady who gave us the tour, what was the average age, I believe she said 81 and I'm only 68. I think it would be a problem for me to possibly make friends in my age group.
The facility is clean, updated, and big. It has lots of areas for keeping yourself busy. They had a gym, a card room, a craft room, a game room, and a pool area.
The person who gave the tour was very nice, very professional, and answered all of our questions. She's just very personable and we felt comfortable with her.
The dining area was bright, open, and not cramped. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anybody.
I don't know if they have yoga or exercise class or chair yoga but I think if it's not there, it should be added.

Stratford Court of Boca Pointe is located geographically in a very nice area of town. It's right off main roads, and the landscaping is beautiful. The building itself is an old building, but refurbished very nicely. It's bigger than I thought it would be. I was interviewed by two gentlemen. We sat in their office. They're very cordial and very knowledgeable. The appearance of the place was fine. It was clean and very acceptable.
They have a whole month calendar of activities, and each day there's at least the four or five different activities. They have continual activities in the pool. They have physical therapy, movies, lectures, and a very active card room. It's a very full schedule. I was also impressed that they have a car service that would take me at no charge to my doctors. It was very nice because I'm even thinking of not having to have a car there.
I looked at four different rooms; they insisted that I see them all. What I like about that place is they have such a variety of shapes and layouts. There is everything from the studio, one-bedroom-one-bath, two-bedroom-one-bath, two-bedroom-two-bath, terraces, non-terraces and balconies. There was an incredible assortment of rooms that other places do not have. I think that by having that choice that would service me more than enough. I would not have difficulty finding the desirable square footage or layout. I'm talking from experience because I'm a general contractor. I redo and upgrade houses and apartments. I can see the quality and the work that they put into these places and the renovations that they've done; it's all topnotch.

We toured probably five different facilities, and Stratford Court of Boca Pointe varies so greatly in its features. They are a little less restrictive, a little more independent, and a little more lenient as far as people bringing in their own resources. In some of the other facilities, I just didn't notice as much of a presence from outside nursing agencies. In the long term, if my mom needs services like that, it would be much more inexpensive to bring them in on your own (especially the ones covered in your insurance) rather than upgrade her level in the facility and add a lot more to our expenses.
It's a very nice facility and location is a big factor. It's within five minutes of us. The people were very nice and did a good job of showing me everything. They're doing some construction, but the unit that we got for my mom has already been done, so that won't be an issue. One feature that was a bonus for us and my mom is she has her own washer and dryer in her unit. They also have your full independent kitchen, plus two meals a day provided with your lease, which is much nicer than a lot of other places, too.

The person that guided us around Stratford Court of Boca Pointe was absolutely qualified. He knew his stuff, was very pleasant, and helpful. The facility, overall, had good-sized apartments. The only negative aspect of the visit was that the common areas were a little too dark. It had a feeling of something that was cold and not very appealing. The apartments were clean though, and everything else was good.
When they change the people that live in a unit, they basically repaint the floor and redo the whole thing, which is a positive thing. Its cost would certainly be more affordable than the newer communities and there was some variety in the layout, and the options that you would have had. They have a large library, too. I just had a good impression.

I went to Stratford Court of Boca Pointe. They have 300 or more residents. In order for me to get all the things that I need, it has to be a big complex like Stratford Court or bigger. I liked it very much. I was very impressed. They offer a lot of things that I'm very interested in, and the apartments are very nice and everything.
It was very alive, very bright and sunny, had beautiful gardens, a lot of activities, a great dining hall, and the food looked healthy. They keep in mind the diet restrictions of the patients. They provide an alert button for the clients in the apartment and you can push the alert. If you fall or anything, they know exactly where you are, and they come to help you. It would be included in the price.
They had a nice rehab center. The apartments were good sized and most of them had washer and dryer in the apartment. Pets are allowed. Visitors can come and eat with you in the dining room and also stay with you. They have doctors that come to the place regularly. There are different dermatologists, primary doctors, and other kinds of doctors that come to the place on a regular basis. They do lab work, x-rays and things like that. They have a full staff. Their Covid protocol seemed very good and efficient.
They had aerobics, yoga classes, a swimming pool, and water aerobics. It seemed very, very active. There's a lot of activities. It seemed very alive, very happy, very bright, and sunny. There's a lot going on. It is not dull like people just sitting like zombies. This was the independent living side of the building, and it was very good. The only downside was there was a roach in the kitchen; it was in a place that they had not painted and cleaned out yet.

I toured Stratford Court of Boca Pointe and saw some apartments. Some needed a good kind of cleaning, but Tom warned me, however, that should be at the top of their priority list when they want to get new people in. Tom was very, very nice though, and very helpful during the tour. He was a very nice individual. He answered pretty much all my questions and even gave me two entrees to take home.
The size of the rooms wasn't bad. I liked the one which had an enclosed Florida room in it. They also have exercise classes, entertainment, and a theater room. I didn't get to see any people in the dining area, but it looked pretty good. He said that the place was last renovated about six or seven years ago, and to me, it looked like it needs some updating now.

I had an appointment scheduled for Stratford Court of Boca Pointe. When I got there, they were very disorganized. They did not provide anyone to help me and my mother. I found the place to be too much of a mix between independent and assisted living. I was not impressed.
I know it's considered a nice place. My mother actually talked to a couple of residents outside the place, who said it was very nice years ago. They are longtime residents. They said it's not that great anymore. That was some independent feedback which she overheard.
The employees that I met were trying to help. They were caught up with a lot of other things that they had to do. They looked like they were overtaxed with other responsibilities. It was not that they weren't nice; I can tell they were just overwhelmed with other stuff. I would say that as far as friendliness, they were a four. As far as actually providing me with a solution, they were a two.
They did not get anybody to give us a tour. We just walked and said, "We don't like this place." The outside looked like it needed a little bit of work, like painting or whatever. The inside was nice. There is nothing wrong with it. It is up to date. I believe the central area is fairly small considering how big the place is.

The only problem with Stratford Court of Boca Pointe is that it's too far from us, and the facility is too old. It's really large; they have 500 people overall, with 300 independent and the rest assisted. It's a nice facility, they have washers and dryers in the unit, and they have nice-sized rooms. It's an older building, but it's priced reasonably. They have two meals a day, you can have breakfast with lunch or dinner, and some days it's brunch only. Once a week, they do all your linens, beddings, and towels, although you have your washer and dryer in the unit. They said they would be adding activities, but they don't have any right now.

My brother has moved into independent living at Stratford Court of Boca Pointe, but he is in rehab right now. It was difficult because they said that he would qualify for the VA assistance, which he still has not gotten yet. Once we moved into the independent, they said they couldn't find any of the forms. Since then, he had an operation, and he has been in and out of the hospital. It has been difficult that way. I would recommend Stratford Court. It is very clean. The sales people and the people around are very pleasant. My brother has been in out of the place more than in it. For the initial, the people are very friendly, and the place is very clean. They're nice but they are not giving truthful information. That should have been cleared up before my brother moved in.

I have moved into Stratford Court of Boca Pointe. I love it. Everybody is friendly and helpful. I love my room. They clean it once a week. The food is very good all the time and there are multiple options for dinner. The waiters are very nice, too. The living atmosphere is super. There are plenty of activities. Stratford Court of Boca Pointe is perfect.

We went to Stratford Court of Boca Pointe. It was great. I didnt have any complaints. It was lovely, very nice, and if mother needed a place, it would be one we would consider. They have card games from the board that I saw. The dining area was elegant with white table cloths, and it couldnt have been any nicer.

I liked Stratford Court of Boca Pointe very much and I'm pursuing it. The apartment I saw was acceptable to me. They have comprehensive activities which is also acceptable. The staff member I met was very pleasant. They have a dining area, a library, a gym, card rooms, and a big entertainment room. I thought it was well-run.

Stratford Court of Boca Pointe is a very nice community, but the big objection is the main hub of activity is where you enter, and everything spikes out from there with these big long corridors, so it's a very long walk from the elevator to get there. To go down to breakfast, dinner, activities, or to exit the place would be a chore for me since I have difficulty walking. It was also pricier than other facilities. I liked the activities they presented and the whole general demeanor of the place was very lovely. The staff was excellent and the programs they offered were superior to most places. The apartments were also very nice. I was very impressed with it.

Stratford Court was reasonably clean and reasonably not too smelly, but I felt like I was in a hospital when I walked down the hallway. The people were nice, and as for the apartments themselves, they were OK, but I’ve seen much nicer. If someone would ask me if I would send my mother there, absolutely not. They can improve by being discreet or not going behind the client. It was overpriced. The parking was impossible; it was a strange parking arrangement. It’s not a client friendly setting.

I visited Stratford Court because I know people who live there. So it was not a formal visit where somebody would show you around. The place itself was lovely. It was in a beautiful neighborhood. They have their apartments set up around the lake. The whole area was just a lovely community. My parents have very good friends who live there and we had dinner with them. They have very nice dining area. The food was good but not as good as in the other facility. After dinner, we went into the room where they hold events and shows. There was a show at that time and it was good.

We moved my mom to Stratford Court after she was hospitalized and the care that they offer is superior. It is a small unit, but there's more one-on-one attention there. Her room is smaller but it is more than adequate and I think she's comfortable. Basically, their activities are geared towards trying to increase the memories of the past. They have a garden, an old kitchen, a doll house and a memory box in each of their rooms so they can try to connect with their family and past. It is interesting because in the past she used to be complaining about the food, but at Stratford, she said the food is okay there.

Startford Court's staff is very good. They're always there when you need them. The maintenance people come quickly as soon as you call. They're trying to do their best for us to get settled.
The rooms are fine. They upgraded us so we got a kitchen and a bathroom. You have to get used to the food. They do have a menu for lunch. Dinner is quite nice though. We've only been here a little over a week and we've spoken to a number of people who said they're very happy here. They think it's wonderful.

As my husband and I entered Stratford Court, the atmosphere was atrocious. Residents were sleeping in the lobby and there was no interaction at all. I don't know what the staff were doing there, but that place was just not for us.
