My friend is in Nspire Healthcare - Kendall. She wants to go home. She doesn't want to go to assisted living and we're in the process of trying to get an application into the Veterans Administration to get some help financially. She has been there months and months because she was there for rehab, and then they moved her downstairs to assisted living. Her insurance paid for a limited amount of rehab, but I think she's pretty much paying it all right now, which is taking most of her Social Security check. They're doing a wonderful job, but my friend wants to leave and come home and they love her there. They want her to stay. The nurses are very caring, and they would have helped her in a lot of ways. She was having trouble getting her primary care doctor to respond, and they helped her get in touch with the Nspire physicians so that she could get some things done like getting her shot and just renewing her medications. They do a fabulous job. I like them. I visit her about two times a week. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. Even the receptionist knows what's going on and knows the patients. The nurses are extremely caring. They're very busy and even with all the Covid, the extra duties and precautions they've had to take, I've been very impressed with them. The facility is very nice. I find the rooms a little dark, which makes them difficult to read. Darkness is depressing. I think it could be better. They have exercise, bingo, arts and crafts, they decorate, and they have parties. They keep the patients active if they want to participate. My friend is a loner and she does a few things, so I'm not that knowledgeable about everything available, but I know that they do group exercises and movies. They have an arts and crafts room and a beauty parlor. My friend hasn't complained at all about the food. I think it's a medium-priced assisted living facility. It's not top of the line as far as its fees and I think it's good value for the money.

I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews. We’ve had nothing but a positive experience here. My grandfather could barely move before he came here for rehabilitation. In a matter of almost 3 weeks, he’s talking, feeding himself, taking steps and using his hands to full mobility. The staff is very nice to him and treat him well. Everything is what you make it, and if you go in with a positive open mind, then it’s likely to reflect on the patient and help motivate them to get better. We’ve had bad experiences with other places, but this rehab is top notch.

My mother has been in Heartland for a month and a half, and it is very good. She is responding very well to the rehab there. I would definitely recommend it. Everything is good. I like thhe friendliness of the people and how they care for the people there for the rehab. They will welcome you with open arms. The rooms are clean and not very big, but they can accommodate two people with wheelchairs. They don't have extra room, but they have room enough for you to move around.

The staff at Heartland Health Care Center Kendall was friendly, but the place did not look as good as the other places I've seen. The room was like a small apartment with one bedroom, a small living room, a kitchen with just a refrigerator because the meals are provided, and a huge bathroom. They provide the TV and everything was carpeted and furnished. You have a choice to use your own furniture or use theirs, but theirs was pretty good.

This place is horrible. my dad went in with a simple UTI and a bed sore, two weeks later he ended up not being able to walk, with now a bone infection. the lack of care is what got him here. so disappointed with the nurses there that ignore the patients for over 20 minutes just for pain meds. If a nurse or staff sees a patient declining it is there duty to report and get there patient help. !! We will be reporting to the florida board of nursing insurance company! just because someone is old does not give anyone the right to ignore them.

My husband was sent here for rehab after spending three weeks in the hospital. The rehab staff is wonderful. Rest of the staff are horrible. Most do not speak English so you cannot communicate with them. The food is terrible. He was on a special diet due to being a diiabetic and dialysis patient but they did not care. It sometimes took hours to get a staff member to answer the call button. By the time they would answer the call my husband no longer needed help to the bathroom. The staff then would be upset and nasty because they had to clean him up and change the bed. I could go on and on but you get the idea. He was there 6 days when fire rescue had to be called due to his deteriorating conditon. After a week in the hospital he was sent to another facility where he trived and was able to go home after a month.

My grandmother suffered a stroke and was sent to heartland for rehab. In respects to rehab they were great! The RNs and Care techs on the other hand were not pleasant to interact with. There were incidents of my grandmother falling because they wouldn't take her to the rest room and she having to sleep in her urined diaper and bed because again they wouldn't never come to take her to the bathroom when she called them. Even with doctors orders that she should be taken to the rest room they would order her to pee in her briefs and then they wouldn't change her. The nurses were rude and always in a bad mood. There were two care techs who really showed compassion and care to my grandmother. The two Care techs would even check on her regularly even when they weren't assigned to her floor because they knew the ones on duty weren't coming to check on her. I would recommend this place for outpatient rehab but for nothing else. Worst patient care I've seen.

Heartland, Kendall was about as good as one of these places could be. The first thing, which to me mattered a lot, was that there was no bad smell to the place -- neither of waste not of cleaning fluids. It was generally fairly quiet, but there were always people within calling distance/line of sight of residents. My father had dementia, Alzhiemer's and Parkinson's. At the end, as his condition worsened over a month, he was allowed to stay in Assisted Living rather than sent up to the nursing home part, saving my mom money but most importantly allowing him to stay with his longterm roommate and to be cared for by people he was used to. Also, Heartland worked with hospice providers, so that they could supplement care provided by Assisted Living staff and at the end be there 24 hours a day. My father's death was handled respectfully, and the staff genuinely mourned him -- and he was not always the most compliant or easy of patients.

The administrator was a sweetheart. The staff was wonderful as well. The only thing I didn't like was that the people there do not seem to get as much attention as they should. I would have liked to see more interaction between the staff and those living there. We were there right around lunch time for them and the food was simply left at their bedside with no interaction or conversation while dropping off the meals.
