I have found a place for my mom. It's Artis Senior Living of Davie. It's a memory care-only place, which I decided was probably going to be the best for her. I chose this one because it's just a memory care and it's enclosed. I also like that it was separate; they have the use of the whole facility on the ground as opposed to others. They pretty much have activities every day. The other thing that is important to me now is that the people are not quarantined. The residents can move about and full activities are going on and everything like that. I've visited it outdoors, but that is pretty much the way a lot of other places are going. However, by doing that, that allows the residents to have free reign, which to me is important. As long as I can see my mom, if it's outside, that will do.

Artis of Davie was very nice. It's smaller than the other places I went to, and it didn't have as many amenities as them. But it was brand new and it's cute and very nice for what it was. It's also located in a very nice area and it's nicely redone. They only have memory care and they have individual rooms. They do memory type activities, when I was there someone was sitting with them on the patio and asking them different things to touch on their memory. They also play games and puzzles. There's one dining room where the chef cooks in front of them and they have one or 2 choices for each meal. It's a lot smaller but it's secure. The staff also followed up on us after the tour.

Artis Senior Living of Davie is all superb in terms of appearance and the staff is phenomenal. They have stuff happening all day long like memory games, music, and outdoor activities. Everything about them is phenomenal including the cookies; they bake fresh cookies every day. The place itself is amazing and beautiful. They're always doing something which is important for mom's cognitive.
