My mother was in Alura Senior Living. The facility was absolutely beautiful and the staff was just amazing, all of them, from the med techs to the people in the dining room and at the front desk. I was very satisfied with the care that she received, they were very good. There were people that came and checked on her all the time. They have movies, they take trips everywhere, and every month they have a destination-themed dinner, whether it's a country or a state. They have a courtyard that's just beautiful with the koi pond and a bocce ball. There's a huge veranda that's like a southern veranda, that stays cool even in the summer. They consider it a luxury, it costs more than other places in the area, but it's worth it.

My mother has moved into Alura Senior Living. We chose them mostly because of its location. It's a brand-new building, so everything is clean. It's a beautiful facility. The food is awesome at this place. My mother came from another assisted living facility and it's like night and day. It's so much better as far as their food choices. The food is good, and good quality. She can choose a salad if she wants to. It's great. She loves the food. She's had hamburgers and chicken marsala. She said the breakfast is good. My mother's room was fine. It was clean when we moved in. It's one-bedroom, basically, so she has a separate bedroom, a living room, and then her bathroom. The downside to the room is that it has very small closets. It's a weird and not a normal-sized shelf that you would have in a closet where you could put a blanket up on top or anything. It's just too small. So that's the downside. It would have been nice to have like a walk-in closet, like what she had at the other facility or something like that. I've seen a few of their activities. They have the whole day pretty much scheduled of stuff to do for them. Like today they had an ice cream social at 3:00.
