On 02-18-2017 I received a bill for services in 12-2015 for $792. I am still in process of appealing this . This month (03-2018) I received another bill with a date of service 01/08/2016. Therapist at home. Amount due $692.01. However, I was not home bound. In fact I saw my doctor on 01/07/2016. Needless to say I will appeal this also. Customer service rude. The billing department answers as Baptist Choice..Please do not confuse this group with Baptist Home Health! I am not sure how the billing is coming from Doctor's Choice and the billing department is using Baptist Choice. I do know that I am tired of yearly bills from this group.

Be very careful about letting this group treat you. they will tell you that you are covered insurance wise. Then out of the blue you will receive a bill ($800) in January 2017 for services in December 2015. When trying to resolve this I found out they were "out of network". Had I known this when they started the services I would have made arrangements for a network provider .The local office will not speak to me so I am trying to appeal the bill.

Doctors Choice is a company of unprofessional nurse and management staff who have serious communication problems. Professional attire: Nurses came to home in blue jeans and out of the two that wore scrubs, one sported bedroom slippers. Ability and Accountability: I needed help on a Saturday evening with a PICC line and was told to force a flush and that "I (the nurse on call) did not need to come out because I am not going to do anything different. If force flush does not work bring to ER". Case manager nurse was incapable of change sterile dressing maintaining sterility. When questioned he said "that's as sterile as it gets when in-home". This nurse was no longer welcomed in my home. Several days past before another case manager was assigned and on the last day of support she came to the home and refused to change the outdated dressing stating "it looks fine". The date that is placed on the dressing must have been there for the families viewing pleasure only. These things are serious but the one thing that can cost a family members life is communication or in the case of Doctors Choice lack of communication. Nurses did not share blood pressure, O2 Sats, or temperatures unless directly asked and then the family member must insist. Blood was drawn every third day and sent to the lab with a turnaround of at least three hours no more than eight hours. The importance of the lab results were life or death so any concerning results would be called into the nurse that drops off the specimen. My mother was overdosing on Vacomysin for days and the family was not notified even thou the nurse was in house twice since the levels increased. My mother would have died under their "care" if we did not happen to have a pcm appointment. There are many more little things that add up but the bottom line is that this company is managed by persons with one purpose - to make money. Every business must make a profit to stay in business but a medical or health care providing organization must have the knowledge, ability, and capability to provide basic health care if that is what they are advertising. I would not recommend this company and I will never use this company again. Absolutely NO STARS! The most important thing that family members can do for their loved one's is to stay involved in his or her care. Do not leave it up to these so called "home health" companies to do the right thing. It could cost you dearly.
