I toured The Opal of Cape Coral for my parents. The staff was nice and helpful. There was just a hurricane in Fort Myers, so they did have some structural damage. They didn't have as many activities, and I didn't like the place as much. It's an older place. There's a courtyard and a dining area. They didn't have a gym.

My grandpa moved in several weeks ago, and I wish we didn't wait so long. Moving him from home was a difficult decision, but caring for him at home was an even harder task. The staff here is friendly and attentive. The set up of his room is spacious and more than enough for his footprint. The kitchenette is perfect to keep all of his snacks. He is very forgetful but the staff is great about making sure he goes to meals and all of his needs are met. He's not much on games or crafts but every time I visit there is something going on. I hope as time goes on, he joins the fun. The building is older, but clean and well kept overall. We are more than pleased with the move so far!

We went to The Opal of Cape Coral. The person in charge was nice and helpful. It was definitely not a good fit for us, and it was pretty quick that we realized that, because the sizes of the rooms were too small, and it's an older place. Apparently, it used to be a hotel that they had built years ago for workers to stay in while they were doing construction in that area. I'm sure it was fine, but it was definitely not for us. I know they had activities going on, but the area we came into, when we came up the elevator, there was just a lot of people just sitting around looking bored and in wheelchairs and stuff. However, everything is included. They have a game room area, and they have some kind of outdoor area they could go to. But truthfully, we didn't like it, so we didn't take a long tour. The staff were all very nice, and the rooms looked OK, but we didn't like the facility because it was very old. It was kept up, but it was very old.

My husband is a resident in memory care at opal house in cape coral. I am very satisfied in every way with the attention given to my husband. The staff keeps me up to the minute when there is any issue. They listen to any and all concerns I might bring up. I realize that memory care is a special kind of work. I cared for him at home until I could no longer. The illnesses are progressive and unpredictable.
The rooms are large and attractive. There is sufficient area for all the geriatric needs.
The food is very good. The meals are on time.
I am comfortable leaving my husband in their care. He is safe, comfortable, clean, sociable, and I am always welcomed.

My visit with The Opal of Cape Coral went very well. The guy there was very nice and gave us a very nice tour. It was a very good place, especially for the money. The rooms were very nice. They provide the little buttons for the seniors once they go into their room in case they had an emergency or needed something. They're starting to plan more activities, now that Covid is getting a little better. It was very clean, and they also provide cleaning of the rooms. There wasn't any odor and everything was very clean and disinfected.
We haven't tried the food there, but I know from experience when my aunt was there that the food was good. We just didn't go at a time where they were serving the food though. They had a very nice courtyard, and they were trying to start having some activities outside there since the Covid is getting a little better. The State lets you do some activities now. They had a very nice activities room inside and a little theater room where people could watch movies. The staff was very friendly. They are in the process of remodeling and updating some rooms.

I have rated the Opal of Cape Coral a well deserved 5 stars. The administrator Renata, is outstanding, who is always there to answer all questions, full time nurse mgr.and med techs on staff. The food is good, staff is always kind and pleasant, the rooms are spotless. The Opal has met all my expectations of placing my loved one here.

My relative is a resident. I second the last review, there’s no communication and no attempts are made by management to correct this. Staff does not check on my grandmother for 3 days at a time, when they do they don’t shower her, she goes 2 weeks without a shower. She has been left at the doctor appointments past pickup time waiting +2hrs causing the doc’s staff to get involved, and meals are forgotten to be brought to her on occasion. Nurses are getting into fist fights on the property and families are only informed when it's reported on WINK news. Feels like the staff are taking advantage of COVID-19 lockdown to further neglect residents. I visit every week and talk to a different person every time and they deflect questioning. No one takes responsibility or has answers about policies and procedures. The only thing they do know how to do is cash the checks I write every month. I pay +$2,500/month. The facility itself is not accommodating, the floors are uneven, upstairs is held together with duck tape on a steep ramp no less...difficult to walk on even for me and I’m not handicapped. Lastly, the courtyard is overrun with smokers which is unfair to the residence who need fresh air and sunshine to warm them. To anyone reading this with similar issues please submit a complaint via this link: https://apps.ahca.myflorida.com/hcfc/default.aspx

There is no staff to attend to the needs of the residents. The food is not good. There is no communication with family members. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. You can't get anyone on the phone or to return your calls.

I went to The Opal of Cape Coral. There was confusion on who was going to give the tour, so we didn't get started off on the right foot there. They were doing some remodelling, nothing major, but it did not have the same feel to it, and the location wasn't what we were looking for. It just didn't fit our needs.

Juniper Village at Cape Coral was very good at taking care of my friend. It's an excellent place as far as the care goes and he was always cleaned up pretty good. I was very happy and very pleased. The people's personalities were nice. The food was pretty good and the coffee was good. However, he died on the 19th, and I still had to pay up until the end of the month, so they owe me a credit. I haven't seen it yet and it's been over 30 days. It's a clean place, very nice, friendly, and very organized. I have no complaints. The staff is more personal, upbuilding, and positive. The food looks delicious. It's an old building and it used to be a hotel, but I thought they did a nice job there. It's very clean and had a very relaxing feeling. Every time I went there, there was something going on in the cafeteria, like music and games. They kept them pretty busy. It's a little less money and they weren't going to bug him as much about going to the dining room. It was closer to where I live.

Juniper Village at Cape Coral was very nice. It was an older facility. The gentleman showed me around, and he was very nice. The place was clean, but I particularly would not have been interested in Juniper Village for my family. They had different rooms, but they only showed me one that was available at that time, and it was the size of a motel room actually. It is in a suburban neighborhood. There was nothing wrong with the place at all. I saw residents that appeared very happy. It was clean, it was very nice, and everybody was very nice. To me, it was an old hotel -- quite dingy and depressing.

Juniper Village was a nice facility, but it was under new management at that time, and they were in the process of improving it. It just didn’t feel very homey nor a place I wanted to put my parents. It seemed to be adequately staffed, but the dining room was a little bit cramped. It was a little bit better priced. It just needed sprucing up.

We've settled my dad at Juniper Village at Cape Coral. It was very good. The residents of the facility seemed to be well-adjusted and content. The staff seemed to know exactly what to do and how to do it. We found out later that they're in the top 1% of all the assisted living centers in the United States, so I guess that speaks volumes. It's very clean and well maintained. They seem to have plenty of activities for them. Everybody seems to enjoy the food quite a bit, including my father.

I toured Juniper Village at Cape Coral. I thought it was old, dark, and rundown. The hallways were long, narrow, and semi-dark. I had an OK lunch there of mediocre food.

I visited Juniper Village and liked the location and the cleanliness of it. I liked the personnel, the size of the rooms, and the dining room. I didn't find anything about it that I didn't like. They have a lot of activities going on, like cooking expeditions, visitors, and movies. My mother is not exactly the type of person who would take advantage of all of that, though. They have church services, which is very important. They can do transportation, but, for the most part, I've always taken her to her doctor's appointments for the last several years anyway, so that's not a big problem for us. She hasn't really been accepted there yet, but I really liked the personnel that I spoke to, so I would say they're five stars. I was really impressed with it.

Juniper Village was a very nice place with nice people. The residents seemed to be happy. They take people out to do activities instead of having them sit around all of the time.

Juniper Village at Cape Coral was nice. Everybody was friendly and helpful. We were very well pleased with it. They had a mini-bus where they could take clients out if they had to go to doctors. They had an in-house nurse practitioner that came in. They went to different places. They had a nice menu, but we didn't have dinner or lunch there. The apartments were very roomy and spacious.

Juniper Village was very much a nice place to live; it was very welcoming, very bright, and cheerful. The staff was motivated and professional. They all seemed very pleasant and very interesting. They had crafts, gardening, and sing-alongs. They had stuff for inside and stuff for outside. Even the residents who were doing the activities were very much delighted with it. I saw the whole place: a sample room, the dining room, the activities room, and the gardens. It was nice and very clean; I was very pleased with it. I saw no evidence of neglect at all.

Juniper Village is good enough if you need a place to go and you can afford it. I would recommend it.
The dining room was very nice. They gave me a good meal, and they treat me right.

Juniper Village was impersonal. It was assisted living, but I didn't see any qualified nursing staff. I didn't get a sense of hominess and I didn't think the care was going to be sufficient. It wasn't a secured building. I would not put anyone there who had issues with dementia. They should improve on their safety.

The Juniper Village at Cape Coral assisted living facility looked really well-kept from the outside as we drove up. We were looking for a suitable new home for my friend's mother.
Our tour of the outside grounds was lovely; there were flowers and shrubs everywhere, with nice seating areas. The patio areas also had barbeques where they host private and facility parties.
The main foyer had a lovely receiving area, reminiscent of a quaint country home.
The living suites were all a nice size and did not seem cramped. They were also beautifully decorated. Each unit had individually controlled temperatures. The kitchens all had ample counter space and appliances.
Events and outings scheduled include anything you can imagine - from restaurants, to art museums, the library, local films and crafts, fine dining and theater. They also host monthly birthday parties for residents at the facility which they encourage friends and family to attend.
The communal areas all had interesting activities occurring, from reading to games and resident interactions. It was clear that the residents enjoy living here.
The dining areas have many options. From more intimate to communal dining, resident can choose whatever they like - in addition to hosting guests in their own spaces. The food choices looked nutritious and delicious, as well as the regular snacks - offered continually.
The residents are encouraged to enjoy physical activity as much as possible. They have exercise classes such as yoga and aerobics, or use the weight training and other equipment. They may also enjoy the outer walk ways around the building.
All of the resident's needs appear to be met easily and efficiently, in a friendly and caring manner. This is a thoughtfully designed facility with caring and attentive staff.
