When Mom moved to Memory Care Shellpoint said they would offer my father 3 visits per week as he was in assisted living. Visitation would start and stop, start and stop. You had to be constantly vigilant to ensure follow through. Because Dad didn't see her, Dad was crying.. doesn't Mom love me anymore? Did your mother die? At this point with his memory not sure if he is offered 3 times a week visitation.
Mom now in Hospice and since I live in NY, Shellpoint said they'd have a worker call me every Monday. This past month 2 calls, and I had to call and remind Shellpoint for BOTH calls! Left message with this worker last week that it's hurtful for both my Mom and I not to have contact as she's dying. Got a call from Mom the next day...but did I get a call yesterday the next week on a on the Monday? No!
The month prior phone calls not consistent. Unbelievable!
Also got a message put my Mom on medication when after my sister and I had discussed and stated we didn't want medication. Got a disgusted tone call " Caroline, I called you twice on Friday but your phone wasn't on. ". Shellpoint you have my cell, home, email, message...all this for my sister. You should have called ASAP when you found you had violated a family directive, not twice at the end of a week!
Called supervisor and never received a return call.
I don't know if Shellpoint can't get enough workers.. I know our Country is having a hard time getting people to work..If these people just don't care?....The end result is what I'm sharing.
The facilities for independent living when you can advocate for yourself are great..concerts, pool, orchard house, boat...all sorts of activities. But when you can't defend yourself, I can not recommend this institution unless you live right near Shellpoint and advocate for your loved one.

I toured Shell Point Retirement Community. It's a beautiful, sprawling campus. It has various amenities that I think a person who is 55 and over would enjoy and feel at home. The staff was fantastic, very open to answering any questions, gave us information, and helped us go through the process. The rooms were all renovated, home-like, and spacious. They have kitchens, bathrooms, and they have an open window, almost like a terrace window. I did try the food, and it was very good. The dining area is very open, so it's conducive for people to sit there. It's a restaurant like, it has a salad bar, the staff wait on you, so it's similar to a restaurant atmosphere. They have a salon, fitness room, they have extensive medical care on the campus, they have a pool, and they have various club areas. They have a maintenance area for golf carts, and they also have a garden. So if you garden, they have a common garden that you can use. The upkeep and maintenance seem to be fantastic, I didn't see any issues. They've been renovating it.

This is a wonderful assisted living facility. My mother has been a resident at Shell Point in independent living for four years. Recently she moved into assisted living at The Springs. The staff could not have been more helpful, caring and compassionate during the transition. The food is good. The activities are abundant. The other residents all seem to be interesting people and well adjusted into their lives at the facility. Shell Point is building additional facilities right next door, including additional living units and an art center. When all done, this will be superb.

I wish we had known that the staff at this place was unreliable and did not serve the patients to the best of their ability. They hand out meds without doctor prescriptions when they"think" it might help their resident. Twice this has happened and twice we have had hosptial stays and then lengthy stays at a rehabilitation facility. Please do not allow them to care for your relative!!!!!!!!

I was specifically looking for an assisted living facility for my mom, and I was able to visit The Springs at Shell Point. The facility is a converted hotel. The staff was very accommodating. From what I could determine, many of them have been on staff for a very long time, like over 10 years. It seems like a very stable place. What I like about it is they have everything pretty much on-site there. They have their own medical center. From a feature standpoint, and what services they have available on-site, it is very good. The facility is very large, and so they have tons of activities. I like the number of services that are available on location there, and that seems very positive. I also like that it is accessible for me to get there.

My parents chose The Springs because it's a newer facility. They like the location, the building and the anytime dining (you don't need to eat at a certain time). I like this place because it's cleaner and it has an all-inclusive fee; you know upfront what you will pay. The only cost they will incur is if there's any medical need like physical or occupational therapy. The staff has longevity. They were very courteous, helpful and friendly. They answered all our questions. There was no pushing or questioning. The room was spacious too, and the people looked happy here.

Everything is wonderful here at The Spring at Shell Point. The staff is so sweet and everybody is so kind. They have an art studio, a ceramic studio and a woodwork shop which we can use to do some interesting things. We are very pleased here.
