ProMedica is a rehab and a nursing home. We were hoping we could get my brother into the nursing facility that they have, but they said he did not qualify. He stayed there for a good month. We had some problems at the end, and I wasn't happy with the service. I tried calling them for one whole day, and they didn't call me back.
The staff was fairly good and attentive. If you asked them to do something, they did it. My brother was happy with the food, but he's a chowhound. You could give him Wheaties three times a day, and he'd be happy. They didn't exactly come in and drag him out for activities. They would announce it over the loudspeaker for bingo or whatever. He did go a few times. It's more of a hospital setting. They were very adamant about getting him back and forth to his dialysis. They were very good about getting him to doctors.
Supposedly, they were applying for Medicaid for him. When he first went in there, his insurance and his Medicare were paying the bills; but when he was about to be released, it was going to go into full blown expense. While he was there, I was very pleased with what we paid. For the most part, it was clean. The only problem I had is the bathroom was kind of outdated, and the first room he was in, the faucet wasn't even working.

My wife was in rehab at Manorcare Health Services. I didn't think they gave her as good care as they should have. She was there for physical therapy and they didn't do much for her there. The first time she was there they had a really good physical therapist that really worked with her, and then the last time she was there the guy that worked with her didn't do as much. I wouldn't go there myself. It's a nursing home as well and they do a lot of physical therapy/rehab, but I wouldn't go there. I didn't think she was treated well there. Some of the staff members were very good and some were not good at all. Their facilities were pretty decent.

My Mother in law was here for three weeks recovering from surgery. The food was good the staff was good and the nursing and PT were all really good. I would have no problem bringing any loved one back to ManorCare Ft Myers.

Rooms are basic. Food looked good, but soup was served around 11:00 am and the meal around 1:00 pm; residents sat around and waited for the 2 hours in between. Some staff are helpful and cordial, but most do not provide information and spend lots of time talking with each other instead of interacting with residents (who are there for memory care). Often, calls are not promptly (or sometimes ever) returned by nurses, social workers, and the administrator. The memory care unit has no activities for residents, except for scheduled therapy sessions, which might amount to 90 minutes a day at best. There is no communication with family about care goals or progress toward them. Large and sudden changes in a resident's condition seem to be ignored. Residents spend most of the day in the dining area with a TV tuned to old westerns or soaps, with nothing to tell them the date or day or to promote orientation or cognitive ability. Staff argue with and yell at disoriented residents, which only makes them worse. It is impossible to talk with the facility doctor or have the doctor communicate with the resident's own providers who have cared for the resident for years. Staff do not actively listen to residents or their families, and they make decisions with insufficient information; but they could easily get the info by listening to or coordinating with the resident, family, and the resident's own providers. The "on-hold" message for the facility is only wishful thinking, but it shows someone knows what should happen. They just don't do it.

ManorCare had about 50 people working there and they were good. The therapy they provided was OK. Their rooms were average and the food was also OK, though not that great. The place itself was clean.

Nobody smiles, food is slop, when my dad had to pee or wanted water it was like we were putting them out. They sit in the cafe area for a hour before the cold slop is served. We hane been here for 2 days for rehab just hoping the or and pt get him out of here quickly

My mom is at ManorCare. There is no communication when I call for an update. They continued to send me the wrong person. I took many pictures when my mom first arrived there because the bathroom was literally stacked high with used toilet papers, and diapers. It was used as a utility room. I told them I would use those pictures against them. My mom is on insulin, and if she doesn’t want to eat; they would just leave her in the room. They’re supposed to do rehab on her, but they really weren’t doing anything. There is nothing positive about the place. Looking at the building; it is OK, but I would not recommend it.

For her hip surgery, mom went to a place called Manorcare. There was a doctor in the hospital that recommended them. It was a lot cleaner, and the staff is probably about 15. They are a lot easier and more accessible to the bathrooms because the bathroom door is not set up like the other ones. The rooms are probably slightly bigger, but the setup of the rooms are better. It's a newer building, so it's environment is just welcoming. Mom liked the food better at Manorcare. We really liked them overall, the atmosphere and everything.

My mom is staying in Manorcare. She is in a semi-private room, which is a fine room, very clean and bright. She is recovering from surgery and she has not been feeling very well but they're giving her excellent care. The staff are very helpful and very attentive.
