My wife stayed at The Crossings at Riverview just for respite care. She's been home for a while now. She was there for 30 days. They had bingo, dominos, and arts and crafts. The staff was great. Upkeep and cleanliness were very good. Her room was good. I didn't try the food, but she said it was really good. They had a beauty salon, a gym, and a movie theater. Sometimes, the staff level wasn't there, so they couldn't do some of the activities, but it was better than the place she was in before. They should just maintain their staff, but that seems to be everybody's problem right now.

My mom is at The Crossings at Riverview's assisted living. Overall, I think it's mediocre at best. I don't think the care is very good. There are times when she pushes the button (they all wear one around their necks), and she has to wait 45 minutes for somebody to come and check on her. Yesterday, they were supposed to help her take a shower. Two ladies came in and sat on her bed in the bedroom, rather than being in the bathroom with her in case she fell or needed help. I don't know what's the point of them coming in to help her take a shower, if they're not actually in the bathroom when she's taking a shower. The staff is overworked and underpaid like any other facility too.
The physical appearance of the facility is beautiful. It's clean and nice-looking. It's fairly new and only about 6 years old. The administration is also nice and accommodating. They try really hard, but a lot of their aides are just uncaring.
The residents all complain constantly about the food.
They have activities every day for them to do. Sometimes they're a little repetitive like they were doing bingo every single day for a while, but they really try. They have outings, and they play games. They have a game room that has puzzles and board games, so they have quite a few things. They also have some church services, so they do pretty well on that.
They don't take insurance so it does get kind of pricey. They have 3 levels of care. If you have to go up, it's more money at every level.

My parents were at The Crossings at Riverview. The community is nice, they're one of the better ones that we've seen in the area. From the nursing staff to the front desk, everything's been very nice including the outside. There needs to be some improvement on the administrative part. Their room was very nice. Most of the staff were very, very friendly but some of them don't know their job. They're nice, but in terms of the process, nothing was done correctly, my parents never received a welcome packet. They had broken things in their room and we asked them to fix things but they didn't have a maintenance person on staff. Everything looked really pretty at that place but there was an issue.
My dad died a week after being there. It's a pretty place and people are nice, but I had one nurse who didn't know how to do blood pressure medicine. So she had to do something else to take care of my mom. My dad asked for help with the button and no one came. He called for someone to come externally, and they got there before the internal staff came. I talked to the director about getting the refund after my dad passed, and she got an attitude, so my whole experience is zero. But the facility is nice. I don't think my mom ever received a diabetic meal. They were just getting hamburgers, french fries and cheesecakes so nothing diabetic. They were supposed to make my parents go downstairs, but they only kept bringing them food upstairs. So it's not a great experience. They cost way too much for not getting everything we need.

I had an in-person tour of The Crossings at Riverview. I like the cleanliness of the facility. It seems to be well organized for the patients in terms of places to read, go and sit, enjoy the outdoors, et cetera. It looks modern. The staff was very informative. They have dominoes, several card games, billiards, and outings. They provide transportation. They have a beauty salon, an exercise area, and a patio. The dining area was well-lit and possibly small for the population.

My mother-in-law was in The Crossings at Riverview. Its location was important for us, the facility was beautiful, and the people were friendly and caring. The food was good. One of her nurses came to her home to visit her on her day-off, so they go over and beyond there. They have all kinds of activities, we didn't do any of them, but they had bingo, field trips, they have happy hour, live music, cooking classes, and arts and crafts. Everyone else seemed to have a good time there. They were pretty comparable to everyone else, it seemed expensive to me but for what you get, it's fine. The rooms have a full-sized fridge and a microwave.

The Crossings at Riverview was a beautiful place. I was going to take mom there for respite care because I needed some medical care myself. We discussed everything. It was very new, and the rooms were very nice. It was a little more expensive, but the tour showed me a library, a movie room, arts and crafts, and a gym. The rooms themselves were a high-end Marriott Hotel resort setting. There's a view of the river from the screened-in patio. It had gorgeous surroundings. It was set off from a very busy road, but there was an easy access red light at the entrance. It was definitely one of two of my choices. They had a 14-day minimum, but it was a very good place for respite care. Because my mother was on hospice, the hospice nurse would still be able to come there and then I would have to pay for a home health aide or home health nurse if she needed assistance with her colostomy bag. Respite care was only $175 a day. The staff showed me the entire facility. They had a beautiful outdoor patio area, and it was right on the river. It was a beautiful setting.

The Crossings at Riverview was a state-of-the-art beautiful place. It's gorgeous when you walk in. My husband was there for a short time and he broke six ribs, punctured his lung, and had pneumonia. They took x-rays and couldn't see it and never notified me. I couldn't talk to the administrator or the nurse-in-charge. There was no interface whatsoever with the front office ever. The food was mediocre. The front desk lady was very nice, but that's the only person I ever saw. The nurses did nothing for the elderly. They put him in the memory care unit, and the people around him were trying to escape, but they're given nothing to stimulate them. They took them on outings, and they had a nice gym, but nobody staffed it. They would sit around and throw a ball after dinner. The care, the food, and the staff were just nonexistent. They were really bad. There's nothing good about it. They almost killed him.

My grandmother was in the memory care portion of this facility right under a month and to say the experience has been less than satisfactory would be an understatement.
Upon our initial tour of the facility we asked if the staff encourages the residents to participate in the activities that were scheduled for the day. Furthermore, we asked if one of the residents were stubborn and said no at first would they still work to get them to participate. We explained that my grandmother was notorious for not wanting to participate unless encouraged to do so a few times, we were assured that the staff would be made aware as so to get her engaged. We were sold on the idea that she'd be in an environment that'd help her mentally and physically.
However, after moving her in we'd visit often at different times of the day and every time we'd find her either laying in bed or sitting on couch sleeping when other residents were doing activities. When we inquired why she was always laying in bed or not with other residents, the answer was always "she didn't want to get up/participate." We've spoken to staff after these situations and were informed staff would be made aware to be more persistent in getting her up/engaged; however, no change was made and it was the same thing over and over again.
Some other concerns I'd like to mention: staff locks the doors when residents are out in common areas, well upon visiting one day, we found my grandmother LOCKED inside her room, staff wasn't even aware she was locked inside the room. She fell twice while there, the first time she fell we questioned how she fell and none of the staff could give an answer and would state the person on duty at the time was not there. Another mentionable concern, when she has fell she has busted her head open and after the bleeding and they didn’t even bathe her when she came back from hospital they left all the blood on her. We had to ask them two days later if they would bathe her to get all the blood off her head and leg. She had a second fall a few days ago and we made the decision to just take her out of the facility completely.
Some additional note worthy items: she's had items of hers come up missing and when we asked staff about the items they stated they would have to look around and never were able to give a straight answer. We had a small rail on her bed to assist her in sitting up/getting out of bed and one day we came to visit and it was missing. We inquired about it and was informed the state came in and removed it as it is considered a "restraint." We understood why it was removed, however when we asked where the rail was so we could take it home, none of the staff knew where it was. It was my grandmothers roommate that mentioned "I might know a place where it's at" and sure enough the room she showed us had the rail in it.
Overall, my grandmother is in a worst state mentally and physically than a month ago when we put her in the facility; I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially for the price of $4,900 a month!

The facility is fairly new and most of the the direct care associates were helpful and caring, but overall we had a disappointing experience. There were numerous issues and concerns during my dad’s short stay there for which I found the senior management team for the most part removed, inaccessible and poor with follow-through.

The Crossings at Riverview was very nice, and I was impressed with them. The dining area looked very clean and well maintained. It seemed like they had a lot of things for them to do, either group activities or individual. They had a nice to walk around outside by the river, and it looks like they do a good job with it. It's pretty expensive, but it's also newer.

The Crossings at Riverview had good amenities. They have a community kitchen, a regular refrigerator, and a microwave. It was good, but it was higher priced than the other places, and it was further away from where I wanted to be.
I wouldn’t say that the staff was as extensive as the other ones. It was a young gal that was taking us around, and it was a new place. It was not showcased as well as some of the places that were more established.

The Crossings was newer and had knowledgeable staff and activities for my parents, like movies, bingo, cooking demonstrations, and happy hours. The dining area was nice, and the food was good. It’s clean and organized.

The Crossings at Riverview was beautifully decorated; it was a new facility. They hired a good artist to decorate, but the people all seemed unhappy. It’s a new facility, and it’s very well decorated. They hired somebody upfront to make it beautiful, but you didn’t see the inner beauty among the people.

I love the tour at the Crossings. The facilities were great, beautiful, and pristine. The residents were very happy. They have a lot of great programs there for the seniors. The apartments were nice; it had features to help support the elderly and that kind of stuff available.

Everything about The Crossings at Riverview was really nice, but I thought the place was too big for my mom, and I felt like she might get lost there and won't be able to find her way back. The place was beautiful, and the people were very nice.

The Crossings at Riverview was a terrific, beautiful facility, but my mother was not ready to give up her independence yet.

The Crossings at Riverview was very nice and clean. I saw people returning from a trip out on a bus, I think they had all gone out for lunch together. We ate lunch there and had a really delicious meal. The apartment was very nice, but small. I liked everything about it, it just didn't seem to be quite the right place. The staff was very friendly and nice. The chef came out to greet us, very nice.

The Crossing at Riverview was a brand-new facility. The location was right on the Alafia River, so you had a river view. They even had a pet chicken. We weren’t able to meet the clients because they were all busy doing stuff. The staff was very accommodating and quite knowledgeable. We just did not spend too much time there. We did not get to see what they had to offer for food and did not go into the dining facility. We just basically looked at the living facilities.

The Crossings At Riverview was a gorgeous facility on the water, but it's a 6 mile drive in the car. It was absolutely brand new. The person who took us around was very informative. The rooms were lovely and nice sized with granite countertops. The only drawback was that its one side faced the river -- which was gorgeous -- but the other side was right on a busy highway. It's spectacular and state-of-the-art -- a wonderful place for someone who is moving to assisted living. It was a nice visit.

I attended the Grand Opening of The Crossings last night. I am a local professional not affiliated with this community. I have been to every other assisted living community in the area. The team of professionals managing this community are amazing!! I have never met a more solid group of people in sync with their focus of providing the best quality of life for each resident they are entrusted to care for. The atmosphere is comforting, fun and it's very obvious they all are passionate about their roles. A beautiful building is what you get at first glance. Beautiful, knowledgable, dedicated professionals is what you see at a closer look. Very happy, well cared for residents is what you clearly discover at the core of The Crossings! If I was looking, this is where I'd want to live, hands down.

I visited The Crossing at Riverview, and it was very lovely and convenient, but expensive, so it’s something we’ve got to consider what we can work out. The staff was excellent, seemed knowledgeable, very cooperative, and answered all our questions. There were semi private rooms, and each had a separate bedroom, a shared bath, and closet space. They were laid out very nicely, and the food looked like to be well-served.
