My mother was a patient here for approximately 2 months, I visited her just about every day she was there. She was in the back building for rehabilitation. This section is also the skilled nursing location. If I was given adequate time by the hospital before my mother's discharge to choose a proper rehab facility this place would not even make my top 50. I will NEVER under any circumstances allow my mother or anyone I care for to stay even 1 day at this place. I dreaded even having to go back to pick up her medical records. After her discharge I never wanted to step foot in there again. Our family began to reference the facility as "The Prison". If you care about your loved one at all DO NOT send them to this facility for rehab or skilled nursing. Other than the fact that my mother's room smelled of mold & mildew the rooms and food are adequate but the care is TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, INADEQUATE, UNCOMPASSIONATE & UNSYMPATHETIC. My mother was awating brain surgery because of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. She fell many times while here because they never put an alarm on her. Even after several falls, no alarm was ever placed. As a result of the falls she suffered from several compression fractures of vertebrae for which she later had to have surgery. Because of her illness she began to develop urinary & bowel incontinence. They let her sit in fecal matter for various periods of time. Once, after returning from an offsite doctor visit they let her sit in fecies for several (3-4) hours. Another time they let her sit in a wheelchair bottomless without a cover for 2 hours before I got there because they could not find briefs her size. I ended up going to purchase briefs in order to get her what she needed so obviously patient dignity is of NO concern. Many complaints, concerns and requests by her family about medical issues were never addressed or noted in her chart. Nurses and CNA's were rude and annoyed when questions were asked about treatment. Multiple requests needed to be made to get anything done wether it be about medical issues, comfort, diet or anything else. Every time I was there nursing home patients were yelling and/or crying because they needed something or were just lonely. On several occasions myself or my family including my minor children tried to comfort patients. People were often rough in handling my mother causing bruising and pain especially after she became incontinent because it irritated them having to deal with the issue. My mother's illness caused severe cognitive decline which was never respected or given any compassion. Though my mother was in no condition for activities that department severely lacked too. Fingernail painting, bingo or they would push patients in wheelchairs to a small crowded unorganized room to watch a movie. The only good thing about Westminster Manor is Paul in the Physical Therapy department. Paul cared about the patients and was the one I had to go to if I wanted something done. I could go on and on about how terrible this place is. Please believe me and look for a different facility. Do not send a loved one or anyone to this horrible place.

My parents recently moved into the Shores at Westminster. From the very beginning, when they made an inquiry about moving there to the end, where they were moved into the facility, everything was handled in a very professional and respectful manner. There was someone to walk them through every aspect of the move and help them feel comfortable with their decisions and welcome in their new home. They have adjusted to the new surroundings and love it. They love walking through the surrounding neighborhood. They love the food, so Mom has decided to hang up her apron.
